I started a game of FFA today right after starting an xp double boost that should be good for 1 hour. My game immediately crashed and I had to restart which wasted 5 minutes, after that I played FFA to go for the final game I need to complete a challenge, after 15 minutes the game completes but I am given a 0 for score for some reason and nothing counts in the challenge. Afterwards I only have 40 minutes left of my boost.
AI am just curious if anyone knows how to fix this glitch so I don’t lose my full boost? any way to get boosts refunded if you aren’t able to get a full 4 matches in ?
Imma see if simply restarting the app and trying fiesta instead, two rounds of FFA both failed. Down to my final 3 weeklys so swaps wont help me now, but that’s alright. Mostly just missing out on the ultra xp boost, I was waiting for a while and thought I would time it well for 3 300+ challenges in 1 hour for lik 3-4 levels in one day.
Oh well, maybe next time lol. Hope they switch the xp boost to matches complete not duration expired.
FFA has that problem sometimes where it disconnects at the end after the games over or something and you get no challenge progress. When it happens the after action report will be messed up and only show like 3 players even though noone quit.
Its probably best to save your double xp for next season becuase this one still has 5 more months. You are gonna be bored pretty soon when you finish the battle pass like alot of people are right now. If I could back I wouldnt have used a single one
This is why I wish 343 would change how XP boosts work so only time in game when you are accruing XP should count.
I get, and I think most people get, that games that require an always online connection to work will experience issues at some time.
The problem is 343 are selling something that only works for a finite amount of time yet don’t have the ability to ensure you actually can play the game for that time. Conceivably someone could end up purchasing a boost, using the boost and for reasons outside of their control not actually get any XP boost. That doesn’t seem fair.
Two nights ago now, I was playing Fiesta for my event challenges (progress on those worked). The Fiesta playlist was also completing another challenge I had, ‘Play x Quick Play Matches’.
So I think the challenge->playlist mappings might be bugged. Perhaps a different playlist is currently making progress towards FFA?
I’ve been mentioning this in a couple threads with similar topics to see if anyone else has seen this.
This happened to me once and it didn’t count like 3 games. I had to get 50 ffa kills for my last weekly challenge and it worked no problem. I really wish there was a working solution
Kotaku have now reported on 343 being unable/unwilling to compensate players for server issues resulting in wasted XP boosts.
I think it’s really unfair to sell something to someone that they then lose part or all of the use of because of server problems. That’s really anti-consumer and literally allows 343 to make money for nothing. I wonder how it would hold up if challenged in countries with strong consumer rights laws.
Hopefully now this has got some press attention 343 will be willing to alter how XP boosts work.
It’s funny how many businesses that claim to care about customer feedback only care when the press flag their dodgy business practices…
