games have to evolve

realistically how fps many games from the last 3 years don’t have sprint. how many do? Lots Halo cant stay be the same game 20 years on stuffs got to change to bring in people. no one wants to play a game without sprint if all they’ve played is games with sprint whys everyone hating except sprint

alot of my friends were uninterested in halo 1-3 as there first game because when they played the first thing they said was how do i sprint. this makes the game feel slower without always being slower

Over watch, counter-strike, Valorant, Doom, plus the best Halo titles were no sprint.

i said 3 years(overwatch, csgo,“the best halo games”) and doom has dash and the “best halo games” is your opinon.i can name 20 games with sprint and are for the most part more successful at the mment then any of the games you have listed

Over watch 2, and Doom may have dash but it does not have sprint. The most popular, critically-acclaimed Halo titles (CE, H2, and H3) which are also commonly listed as some of the greatest games of all time.

This topic has been discussed ad nauseum for the past decade. There are plenty in depth breakdowns by community members on the effects of sprint in Halo and If you don’t care to educate yourself then don’t post with such ignorance.

Instead of devolving Halo, you can stop when its at its peak, Halo 3 was a good way to end it…

This is one of the most tiresome arguments the sprint brigade loves to trot out.

Who decides what “evolution” entails? Is it just whatever is popular without exception? I guess Rainbow Six and Gears have been total failures because they lack the ability to jump.

We apparently need these “evolved” mechanics, but that hasn’t translated to increased success. Halo 3 is still the most popular Halo game in terms of both sales and population and Halo has only continued to lose ground despite checking all the boxes of a “modern” game. The bottom line is that you don’t have to appeal to the most common denominator to find wild success. The industry is big enough to support all kinds of games without needing to destroy their identities just to try and reel in players who already found what they were looking for in whatever the trendy style of gameplay is at the time.

its not the most common denominator it would only appeal to h3 and bungie worshippers. the game feels slow without sprint. and what do u mean the “the sprint brigade love to trot out” all u sprint haters cant go a sentence without bigging up halo 3

I wish i could like this 100 times, thats a golden argument my guy, id love to see what the enhanced mobility fans have to say to, although im guessing most of them shut their critical thinking ability when it comes to that. Theres so many videos, essays etc breaking down the negatives of enhanced mobility in Halo, yet all ive heard so far is “if you like classic Halo go play it”, “every game nowadays has it, so Halo should have it”, “omg, you re so slow” etc. Common sense just goes out the window

i mean alot of people are just like halo 3 had this every halo game from now on should be like this

Halo has had sprint since 2010

That means its had sprint longer than it hasn’t had it.

To evolve the game we should add a new mechanic of pushing forward to move without any extra buttons.

I expected another issue when entering this post. I was wrong. There is a topic with more than 4000 messages on the same topic. With very good arguments on both sides, why do people insist on opening one topic after another talking about the same thing?

And I mean both sides, both for those who support the sprint and those who are against the sprint.

cars worked when they went forward at 20 mph why make anything better

Exactly. Halo worked better without sprint. Why make something worse?
