It’s insane the game has been in development this long and there is nothing on game play. No video. No concrete details. Nothing.
Doesn’t seem like a very good way to hype up gamers.

Well to be fair, 343 hasn’t just been making Infinite for the last four years since H5 released. They’ve been overhauling MCC, constantly updating H5, hosting Outpost Discovery, and building an entirely new game engine called the Slipspace Engine. Now you can add Reach going to MCC and MCC coming to PC to that list. I’m honestly surprised they’ve been juggling that many plates for this long lol.
While I will agree that hype can only last for so long, it doesn’t surprise me that we haven’t seen any game play yet.
Microsoft has learned their lesson this generation about jumping the gun as far as showing off games so they’re being a lot more careful. There’s still around a year left before the game comes out, I’m sure we’ll see some gameplay next year.
Seems good to me, no need for huge hyping up when the release is quite some time ahead, likely they will avoid some form of misleading leaks by having the leaks released when things are pretty much set in stone in the game.
Don’t know about you lot but gameplay or no, I’m not sure I can handle anymore hype for this game!!

From my what I can see there is very little hype. Which is understandable because of the severe lack of information on the game.

Well that’s fair enough, I can appreciate that. Simply knowing that we have a new Halo on the way has got me hype! What little they have shown us has been plenty to keep me going
still a little over a year out from release

Unfortunately , Hype for a video game developer is more important than in almost any other medium. Game developers have a small window in which to inform , whet your appetite , and then follow through in a timely manner before the next big thing steals their thunder. if they give us to much info to quickly , it becomes old news long before they are ready to launch. By holding back all or most of the important information til the lead up to launch you ensure maximum return for your efforts.
As CDPR said in their message , " Releasing gameplay right away would make [later] game play presentations pointless and would significantly limit our chance to build hype. Why do we need to build hype? To get more gamers interested [in our game], and, hopefully, convince them to give it a go. Also, hype can turn into sales (after all, we are not a charity), and good sales allow us to grow, take creative risks and deliver new, great games for you to enjoy."
So just try to be patient and remember , it never gets better than it is right now. You have the hope of a great Halo game coming in the future , with all the discussion and predictions and anticipation of thousands (hundreds of thousands , millions maybe) riding that same train with you. Once the game is out , it is what it is , for better or worse
It’s no fun waiting. But I’d rather wait longer for a better product than immediately receive a sub par product. Let’s just hope Infinite lives up to the hype.
The hype train will start when it’s time.

Honestly releasing solid game play with interesting details was the only chance to give me any hype. I don’t have any hype just from my own thoughts. Not after MCC and seeing how Halo 4 and 5 turned out.
Do you not understand the game is more than a year out and any info they gave or reveals made would be old news by launch? Why would they do that? Yes , you are disappointed now , but in 7 to 8 months when they start dropping major info dumps you will have all the info you are hoping for and the game will be right around the corner. What good does it do to build hype a year in advance , just so that hype can abate and dissolve. Also , revealing game-play lets competitors get a glimpse at what they are doing and what they are designing , which in turn makes opportunity for other studios to copy , or come up with better designs possibly for the same game-play elements.
Companies are learning more and more from launches like Fallout 4 , where the game was announced , and it felt like in no time at all , the game was in the hands of gamers. This is what most gamers want , we want to enjoy the game , not have it spoiled by a years worth of hype videos that basiclly explain the entire plot and show you every major story beat before the game is on shelves.
I’m hoping they release gameplay soon, I hope it’s not like H5, more like H2/3
The game isn’t coming out until the end of next year, and it’s a launch title for a console that we haven’t even seen yet. 343 Industries have been very open about their intention to develop the game alongside the community, so you’ll get your chance to see it in action long before it releases.
I’d rather have a polished game than “hype,” but that’s just me.

I do not foresee them going the classic gameplay route, but perhaps they will try to perfect Halo 5’s formula.

A year out and having not only no gameplay but very little information at all is not good. It’s also not just a launch title on next gen it’s supposed to release on xbox one as well.

I wasn’t referring to the story or plot. I don’t care to know any of that. I’m talking about the multiplayer and general gameplay.

I’m aware that it’s coming to the Xbox One as well, but that detail wasn’t relevant to what I was saying. The game’s a launch title for a console without a final name or a public appearance yet, so people need to give it time. You’ll likely get information either at the next E3 or before it.

Even so , by showing multiplayer or general game-play details , 343I would be tipping their hand. They are more than a year from launch and any details at this point are still subject to change , so not only are you giving your competition details on what type of game you are making , and giving away design philosophy , you are also possibly misleading your consumer base with details that may or may not be final.
