Gameplay

Halo 5 is just awful all around. The fact that I like Halos makes me come on these forums in hopes halo 6 won’t be so terrible as 5. It feels as if the game offers less shots to take from any auto weapon. It’s silly how some would argue that “oh if I shot you you’d be dead”. Well first of all this game is entirely fiction. Second, calling these soldiers “Spartans” in halo 5 seems a bit too much seeing as how a falling feather can take down half your health. Saddens me how the halo community is dying due to 343s lack of ability to implement core halo mechanics while trying to add things nobody likes such as Spartan charge and ground pound.

What do y’all think? Will halo make it to Halo7? We shouldn’t even be calling halo 5 a halo since it’s so god awful. I doubt anyone will agree since veteran halo players hardly play anymore. At least halo 5 that is. I will say I like halo 4. Halo 5? Not one bit. The fact that memories of reach didn’t even include noble six helmet and armor made me hate this game that much more.

You’ll lose a lot of people at the bold statement… just saying. Can you please tell me where you got that info regarding the fact that lot of veteran members don’t play anymore? As far as I know people don’t really care about ground pound. It is nice to pull off and it puts you in a dangerous situation when charging it. You are basically an easy target and the kill zone is really small. Spartan charge? I can live with that but would definitely like if it would be tweak…

Halo 5 is awful = Your opinion

Halo 5 has the best multiplayer since Halo 3. The core mechanic of equal starts, arena gameplay is there. I’m confused when you said you like Halo 4 when that game strayed from the Halo formula more than any other Halo has.

But… they already added Noble 6’s armor set…

Companies are allowed to experiment and change the core mechanics at points to avoid getting stale (CoD anyone?). I would remind you Bungie did the same thing with Halo 3 and the god awful armor lock. Game is fun, the pro scene has never been stronger, and I don’t understand why you are on the forums if you hate the game so much, over half a year after release. If you felt this strongly, I feel like you would have stopped playing instead of investing almost 4 days of your life so far into the game.

This game is great, no franchise on its 7th installment (more or less depending on what you count) can stay the same without becoming irrelevant.
H5 works well (if it doesn’t then you probably have poor internet or live outside US, welcome to playing video games), its balanced, I go entire games without seeing someone use GP or charge, and while its evolved it retains the core halo aspects of equal starts, smooth gun play, tactical decision making, and an easy to learn difficult to master philosophy.
Yeah, the br isn’t completely op like in h2, thank god
Yeah sprint exists, deal with it or find a different franchise, things change, most people like sprint and H5 has the most balanced sprint in existence. Also adding to escapability by allowing the option to run actually reduces the level of first sight wins. To me thats a good thing.
Yeah there are some armor abilities, but those have existed since H3 in one way shape or form and I played enough of all the halos that I can say with confidence that some more options with how you move around the map keep me engaged because I don’t have to adhere to the same few options like I did in the past
The art style changed, name a franchise that hasn’t had an art style change in some way and I’ll show you a young franchise or a stale franchise.

I’m guessing that you don’t have an understanding of the fact that videogames are a business. Maybe you’re unemployed, maybe you just haven’t ever paid attention to the world around you. It costs massive amounts of money to produce a game. Should they try to appeal to “legacy” fans that will likely not play video games as much, spend less money on them, and who may just stop playing altogether as they settle down and have kids?
Or should the try to adapt to the current marketplace and appeal to younger fans who are a better long term investment for the franchise as a whole?
I’ll give you a hint; the second one, and once you understand that truth you will have a higher likliehood of accepting the fact that the near 20 year old franchise you love needs to change, and that there are real people behind it who might make a mistake here and there, and you know what? It’s okay to miss the old days but you won’t find yourself bent out of shape because Sean Connery isn’t james bond anymore.

Not saying change is bad, but when bad changes are implemented it’s a huge problem. Go on YouTube and I promise I 've seen more hate on halo5 than any other game. I don’t see how people say halo is stronger than ever when literally everyone I know in the Dallas Texas area literally have the same opinion of me.Everyone I know took their game back because of how awful it is. I would as well but I downloaded the game. Pretty sure everyone that’s pro only plays this game because they get paid, nothing more. It’s sad how most people can’t see how bad halo 5 is. No matter, I’ll just play some other games that are much better till I get to see how awful halo 6 is.

You’re a idiot.

Bye guy

And I’m wearing noble 6’'s armor. The armor I believe was in the game at launch

The general consensus is that “everything is balanced perfectly fine, sprint is fine”, which, although I don’t agree with that, I don’t think the whole game is garbage. It’s still better than Call of Duty, has better core mechanics than Destiny, and is easily much better than 4 or Reach. Heck, I would even say it’s better than Halo 1, due to how useless the AR was in that game. If you want to play a Halo game where the automatics are completely useless in CQB, you can play literally any other Halo game except for maybe 4. But why would you want to play 4? It’s as bad or worse than Reach as far as multiplayer PVP goes.

There is well over a million people in Dallas Texas. How many people in the area of the million do you actually know? Just because you and a few friends may share your opinion, doesn’t mean that everyone there share’s it. And it certainly doesn’t mean the whole world does. People enjoy Halo 5 plenty. What’s sad is that you can’t see that other’s don’t share your opinion

I didnt say that all the changes are fully good, I think that they are good, but opinions are opinions
Its a logical fallacy to say that you are right because some/many agree with you, plus welcome to the internet age where everyone can voice an opinion, also unhappy customers are always more apt to voice those opinions than unhappy ones…duh
I don’t think halo is stronger than every, but I also don’t think the reason is because halo 5 is bad, halo reach and 4 dropped a lot of the fan base by doing some truly weird stuff, and guess what? In 2008 when H3 was f-ing strong how many other competitive online shooters were really out there? What was the general gaming landscape like? Xbox ruled the world, the “only” other really popular shooter was COD, and even that wasn’t the force we know it as, and the triple A market had plenty of other games, but whereas now you have a bunch of non “competitive” but still online multiplayer games drawing the playerbase away, and a ton of competitive shooters.
I get that people don’t like change and its ok not to like something but your claim boils down to “H5 is bad” and I think that you are wrong.

Also “veteran players” like myself are like 20, 25, 30 years old or older…of course some of us move on to different franchises or not playing as much/at all in terms of blasting out hours on hours of multiplayer. I only play as much as I do because I work in sales and have time off here and there, and right now I’m only a stepfather and have 2 days a week with no kid, a lot of older players like me don’t have the kind of time to be active and all like we did in our school days to get into the game. So guess what? There are a bunch of new kids who like this game and aren’t concerned with having a recreation of the old games.

I’m pretty sure nobody I’ve ever talked to said halo 5 was awesome. Next
