Would the gameplay be linear, after every mission you shall go to a new map or is there going to be a sandbox style gameplay like rage or arkham city.
If it is mission by mission then would each map be huge with litle things hidden everywhere.

I think with being it being a new “world”, I would prefer an open sandbox. I want the actual game play to be the same or similar but without it being as linear as it has in the past.
We could get an ODST-style scenario. Hub world, with missions located at specific places.

This might work as well. I just don’t like seeing the same area all the time though especially at night. (Also NO flashbacks. Just not my thing.)
Yeah i also didnt like it, anyway i had an idea for halo 5.
If UNSC are there in halo 5 and are introduced at the end of halo 4 then why not have it that while you have missions, you can meet different unsc parties on your way. Have a wide scale battle.
Ex. you are going to an objective and you meet a group of marines on your way who are trying to capture a position, you could help them, killing time and maybe allowing the enemy to reforitfy themselves or leave the marines to die so its easier to finish the mission.
And if you help them you could get more things easily that means you dont have to go far to get vehicles. Also if you captured it, maybe the enemies can try to capture it back.
For example as you go east you help 3 unsc attack groups capture their objectives but when you leave the third one the 1st unsc attack group calls for help as they are attacked from enemy reinforcement which would make you decide whether you want to help them or get the objective done.
Also if you help in the creation of bases you could increase number of friendly ai’s to escort you and more could be added via pelican drop ship to a certain distance of the base.

I do think we will see the UNSC sooner than the end of halo 4 . However, I wouldn’t mind this sort of thing. I just wouldn’t want Halo to turn into a RPG I know this isn’t what your saying but it may be a slippery slope. I just don’t want “Missions” to become “Quests”. I do want a bigger world to explore and not be as corralled as much as we have been though.

Well i don’t want that but i know how they could implement it, mainly risk style gameplay between two ai bots. I just hope its just help being called for within a certain radius anything out of that won’t help.
If you are at a base you could get an understanding of some movement of the enemy, just that i dont want any of rpg quest style that different peolple giving you quest for different things. I just want it to be hell i want to do it for my own choice with no great rewards available. Just a neat thing you did.
I don’t mind the current way but maybe mix it up a bit with a combination of both?
This is how Bungie claimed that Reach would be but honestly, it just ended up being the same linear style as every other game with an option of AA’s every 1-2 hours.

God I loved ODST. I wouldn’t mind this style at all, just make the map a little easier to read…

I know I was expecting Halo:Reach to be a bit different. I have high hopes for H4 especially since it is a new world to explore not a series of battles to fight. I know we will fight but as we explore, I hope at least this is how it will feel.

Also seeing the battles can allow you to have a feel that there is a battle going on. And that you are an important part of it, as helping each group could give you a feeling that you are the one that everyone, the unsc as a matter of fact rely on.

I do hope Halo 4 and beyond has this open epic feeling that I believe you are describing.
I like how it was in Halo: Reach with a big map. Also little things and easter eggs is always good in the campaign.
> I like how it was in Halo: Reach with a big map. Also little things and easter eggs is always good in the campaign.
I liked Halo:Reach too but there were only one or two ways to go. I want it to be much more open going forward.
Also this could be implemented if other things are sacrificed. A DLC could be added on live to that could be downloaded on to the hardrive so that it can work quite well.
