Gameplay ideas after seeing trailer

Hey guys,

so after watching the opening trailer I saw a few things happen that gave me ideas on how things might work in actual gameplay that people might not have noticed yet, and if any of these have been proven wrong through warzone footage or otherwise then please let me know, so here we go:

Ground pound on vehicles - at the start of the trailer locke ground pounds a wraith tank and flips it, so in gameplay perhaps if you ground pound a full health vehicle it will flip over and you have to kill the driver in combat but if the vehicle is low health it will destroy the vehicle and occupants, can you guys confirm this?

walking on vehicles - in past halos if you jump on a tank and it moves a hair it damages you, in the trailer we see vale walk across a tank and jump off, perhaps in halo 5 unless a vehicle is moving at a high enough speed to splatter you, you can walk on them or jump off them (we also see locke jump off a ghost and take the driver out of another ghost, I had an idea tonight about a sort of “vehicle clamber” in that if you jump and time an A button push right on a vehicle about to splatter you that you could jump off it and get enough height for a ground pound, could make for some highlight reel kills

Vehicle assassination - as mentioned above, we see locke jump off one ghost and take out another ghost driver. now I KNOW this won’t be in halo 5 gameplay, but how cool would it be if you while you ground pounded if you timed a button push (same was when you were boarding) that you would do a kind of vehicle assassination where you kill the driver and the vehicle is yours for the taking?

again these are just the thoughts of a damn near 30 year old die hard halo fan

I’d hate to have it so if you ground pound itll flip any vehicles, i want vehicles to be POWERFUL not little weakthings that get smashed, over turned or whatever with little issue, i want vehicles to DOMINATE

being able to walk around/on vehicles would be fun, could make for some fun gamemodes aswell. I think it would be cool if we got to jmp around onphantoms and pelicans like vale

Agreed about vehicles being more powerful, if these things were implemented in gameplay I would prefer that vehicles got a huge buff so that you simply cannot take them out at all with small arms fire and need to use tactics like this to take them out

Well in one of RUL’s Warzone videos, he ground pounds a ghost an it goes flying. And I mean flying. Like, about as far as a body goes when it’-Yoink!- directly with a gravity hammer. Idk if the physics were final when he played the game, but it was entertaining nonetheless.

I dig it, could create some amazing kills like if you ground pound a ghost and it goes flying and takes out more enemies

Physics don’t change according to situations (excluding, of course, if there is some exterior force acting on the area). The Ground Pound is treated as an explosion, and so nearby objects (players, vehicles and sundry) will be affected appropriately. They won’t always flip, and they won’t always be destroyed. It depends on a lot of different things as to what happens when a player Ground Pounds a vehicle.

The vehicle assassination mechanic sounds cool, although the only foreseeable implementation would be a cool new animation whenever you hijack a vehicle whose pilot’s shields are down.

Also: Oh no! - jumping on a moving vehicle hurts you! What a tragedy! I hope that doesn’t happen in real life!

That being said, the vehicle clamber thing sounds pretty interesting. Obviously they would have to make it incredibly difficult to pull off. You know, it’d be one of those things about which people say: “man, that guy can vehicle clamber? He’s awesome!”. Also, they couldn’t allow you to have enough height or lateral movement after doing it to be able to Ground Pound the vehicle that tried to splatter you - that would suck pretty bad.
