Gameplay Feedback

So this has probably already been posted about but here are my quick thoughts:

The glitch that caused reduced sound in the matches told us that there’s a lot of grunting in Infinite. Which got me thinking about the audio clues that tell you your own shields have popped and how it’s not the clearest. Which in turn got me thinking about the visual clues that enemy shields have popped and how they aren’t the clearest either. I think the biggest challenge to playing Infinite for me personally was identifying friend or foe. I’m still not sold on the glowing outline and I’m not sure if the option to change the colours is enough. Thanks for the flight, the game looks and feels awesome!

Reduced sound was always produced when joining an already started match, at least for me.

I’m not sure if it was every time I joined an already started match but I know once it happened it remained throughout the subsequent matches. Only way to get rid of it was exiting the game in the Xbox dashboard and restarting. I played a few like this but after awhile the experience was so awful that I’d just quit as soon as it happened and restart.

I also had trouble with enemy shields not being as clear as they should’ve been. I would prefer if they were yellow like in the old games.

Honestly…call me crazy but when I popped enemy shields I swear there was like a weird audio cue for it. I never had trouble cause I’d hear it. Idk if it’s cause I play with a headset or not but I personally had no issues. Hear a lot of people did though.

No, you’re not crazy. There was an audio indicator for shield popping and kill, I believe.

I just watched some footage and yep. Loud audio cue for the enemies shield pop no matter how far away they are. For me it really helped me. Like the instinct to close in on the kill or really aim for that last head shot immediately followed that sound. Unfortunately it seems most people didn’t notice this. I mean for me it was pretty loud. The video I just watched…randomly just popped up on my YouTube and I wanted to see if it was in my head and no yea we’re both right. Very loud audio cue. Idk how I’d describe that sound. Sort of like a popping his…like imagining a cyber space tire deflate or something lol idk.

Its very reminiscent to me of games like mass affect where there’s this very loud sound when your shields go down. I mean of course not the same but…thats what comes to mind. Loud audio to help show that it happened and enhance the experience.

I have almost the same point of view as you for this.

It was also difficult at times to determine how you died. Sometimes it felt the death cam scene was way more violent than it should be for a given scenario. Trying to keep in mind that this was only a tech preview, i think things like shield colour (bring back the gold!) and friend or foe identification was decided upon a while ago… but I hope its open to change
