As pointed out by ip man, when just one person from far away joins it turns a server, it just turns to -Yoink-. So why ohh why do 343i still not respect people wanting a decent connection, its beyond clear that when you turn on focused or balanced, it should not allow people searching balanced or expanded to join and ruin the gaming experience.

I think what you’re arguing for is region lock. And I’m not sure why the closest to the server would lose considering the closer you are the better your connection should be. Also there’s not much they can do on a primarily US/EU player game without making foreigners wait 30 minutes for a game.

So let me take it further. You want balanced and expanded to be unable to match focused. You also want region locked searching that doesn’t allow people outside of Denmark to match you. Is that correct?
I’ve played on focused from italy on EU NL server (1600 km, ping 30 ms) against people from south africa (13.000 km, latency ???), from mexico (9.000 km, latency ??), etc…
I agree with you, a geo filter is necessary when you play on focused

No the mentioning of countries was just for reference. i want my focused search to only include focused searchers, as it is now a dude searching expanded and balanced can join my server and make it -Yoink- to play, hence the whole idea of me searching focused to get decent games is crapped on.

In all fairness when you search in focused it does warn you about longer wait times.

I may be asking a dumb question, but how do you know that the players you are matched with are searching Balanced and Expanded?

If you search focused from EU you get EU servers. If people join from, say Colombia, they aren´t searching on focused.

Focused search should be for the network/ping connoiseur only. That means that no one searching on balanced or expanded should be allowed into that game. I´ll even take it one step further. If you have -Yoink- internet you shouldn´t be allowed into that game either. There are several variables which define “quality internet connections” but if you cannot meet the most basic bandwidth requirements you sholdn´t be allowed into a “focused” game - you´ll have to do with balanced or expanded. Everyone gets to play but us searching focused with top notch internet shouldn´t have our gaming experience ruined by lagging players in the game. Then anything can happen ocassionally - thats internet - but not all the time.
