Every time I get to the starting menu to press any button it tries to bring up the profile selection box and then that crashes resulting in the game making me try again in a never ending cycle or to just exit the game.
Are you on PC? If so I’m having the same issue.
Apparently this happened during the beta too and some people found some workarounds, but I am yet to find one that works for me. Give it a google and you might get some results that work for you (And if so please add it to your thread, I’ll add anything if I find anything).

So I have just been onto support and they managed to fix this issue for me!
What you need to do is create a desktop shortcut for the game, right click -> Properties and in the “Run” dropdown box select the option Minimized. Apply settings and launch the game!
This worked for me!

Yeah didn’t work for me either.
Sadly that solution did nothing for me. My problem is slightly different though. Instead of a crash it just asks me to select a valid profile to proceed.

mine also does this but shows me nothing to select.
It is not working for me with the shortcut selected as minimized.
Neither launching the game minimized or minimizing it after it launched (moving mouse to top of screen while full-screen) has worked for me. :\

here is what I said anyways, it is very closely related.
This is to clarify the problem.
This problem is with anything related to the Halo app. If I sign out and I can not sign back into the app. The sign in window appears and then closes its self. I have tried to stop it from closing, but can’t find a way to. The avatar for my profile is also not showing in the top right of the app. To sign back in I must uninstall and reinstall the game and then it signs me in under the account I downloaded the app from. This is how the app has been for me for a while so I don’t know how it’s suppose to be. When I go to the Halo wars 2 tab while the game is not yet installed it says to pre-order rather than download, I don’t know if this is normal or because of the glitch. Once the game is downloaded in order to play it asks you to sign in. Just like in the Halo app it shows the window to sign in from and then it closes its self. I don’t see the text for the window just a grey and black window.
I don’t think this has anything to do with hardware because this is on my gaming pc (NVidia gtx970 gpu, intel I54590 cpu.) and my surface pro 4. Both on either side of the spectrum.
