Game voting

As I’m sure you can all tell by the posts in this forum, Halo players don’t take kindly to change. As such, the voting system has led to the same games being voted for - over, and over, and over. While some people might find it fun to play BTB Slayer on Timberlands six times in a row, I’m sure at least once, each of you have said, “ugh, this again?

Most people vote for the game because it is all they’re familiar with. Why are they so familiar with it? Because it is the only one people vote for! It is a never ending vicious cycle. The games that people don’t vote for might be incredibly fun - but how are they supposed to know?

Because of this, I suggest that the voting system be scrapped for something less democratic - be it playing the game Matchmaking tells you to play a la Halo 2, the Halo 3 veto system, or some other type of system where the players do not have specific control over what they want to play.

I think that this system (whichever it is) will open people up to gametypes they’re not familiar with, and keep the game fresh longer than the current voting system does.

Or we could have a server browser that allows use to join games that are about to begin with the map of our choice.

Yes! Totaly agree with you on that. Such as:
Gametype 1 - Map 1
Gametype 1 - Map 2

I haven’t had any real problems with the voting system in Halo Reach. It lets the players choose what they want to play, which is the whole point of it, and it does a better job of it than Halo 3 did.

Yes, but Halo 3 gave you more variety, in Halo Reach, you play the same map over and over and over. In Halo 3, it have you a chance to practice on each map.

Honestly I’d rather keep it simple, just stick with the Veto system and I’ll be good.
