Noticed I can’t just let it play on one player all the way through. There are times the game switches to different player everytime the player dies. Its super annoying to have to switch back to your player everytime it does that. Has this happened to anyone else?

Are you referring to the legitimacy of the complaint itself or the OP? Because I agree with OP that it is a frustrating glitch.

Yeah it’s pretty bad. When the glitch happens you can’t just watch a match all the way through with one player. Constantly have to toggle the name on and switch back.
This happened in halo 4 as well.
If I had to guess, I’d say the code for team spectating upon death remained in viewing the current player upon death (I’m not a coder, just my guess).
How this happens
- Killed by a Pulse grenade or Scattershot making the body designate - **Player falls off the map (Rig, Tyrant, Coliseum etc.)**This has been a super huge problem and complaint for me since the beginning. Its one of the many problems that Theater/Spectator mode has. That could easily be fixed, by having the camera just stay on the area of the map that the player fell off of or the spot where the player got disintegrated at.
example
It showed double kill even though It was just a no scope melee assist.and changed for no reason(second one was me looking for myself)and the one of the enemy spartan had no walking animation.
There are more theatre problems than that
I have been experiencing this issue and I think I may have a theory as to what is causing it. During the original match the game will allow you to cycle between players to spectate before respawning in a manner simmilar to theatre mode. I think if you do this during the original game the view switches in theatre mode but theatre doesn’t know the view has been swapped.
I noticed that during the theatre replay the nameplate for the current player being spectated doesn’t change when the view swaps automatically. A workaround I have identified is to switch POV and Immediatly switch it back by hitting D-Pad up and then down again. When you do this the POV resets to the correct player. Seems unlikely that this is going to be addressed at this point in the development cycle but maybe if 343/Microsoft ports the game to PC like the MCC they can fix it then.

I can justify this, I myself used to like to record the theater clips with the Elgato. I have noticed this before in the past, just nothing I ever brought up in the forums. It does get annoying to have to edit a section out, nothing that can’t be fixed. If you’re watching a clip either for yourself or another player it is annoying to go back in and keep changing the camera.
