Game Shows Huge Amounts Of Promise

Just get rid of sprint (don’t really need it anymore with the current movement speed), tweak aim assist (at least on PCs with controllers), delete that 2nd map, use an ounce more imagination with equipment, buff the power weapons across the board, and we could have ourselves the best Halo game ever made.

That last part wasn’t sarcasm btw.

Delete the second map? WHAT? The second map is amazing lol. Equipment isn’t suppose to have an insanely large role to begin with. Sprint is fine the way it is outside of shields recharging. Aim assist needs to be increased only a tad.

The 2nd map is like a -Yoink- child of Adrift from 4 and Condemned from Reach. Linear corridor maps don’t work well in Halo. Equipment needs to play a larger role because, in it’s current state, I’m still going to go for the sniper or rockets. They need to be powerful, especially in big team battle. Sprint helped kill Halo and if it doesn’t go, Halo probably won’t ever return to what it was. That’s a fact and the population numbers since Reach’s release support that. Aim assist definitely needs an across the board increase except for maybe the BR.

Also, not stated in OP. All the power weapons are weak as hell. There really isn’t a point to grabbing anything but the BR at this point in time.

The second map feels like a modern Prisoner level from Halo CE. It has plenty of angles and would feel great for SWAT and objective based games. The power weapons outside of the Heat Wave IMO are great. They require skill to maximize their uses and strategic planning. Sprint didn’t kill Halo, stupid abilities did. This is literally modern Halo 3 with slow sprint and clamber.

That’s a pretty good way of explaining how infinite feels to play

Prisoner wasn’t very good either. Most of CE’s map design was Quake inspired and none of those maps were good with the gameplay of CE. Also, you can literally sit on BR spawn and cover the entire middle of the map. Kinda lame. The power weapons shouldn’t require any skill to use aside from the sniper. They’re suppose to be easy and effective or they wouldn’t be power weapons. The weapons we have now are weak, hard to aim, and are ineffective.

Sprint is what killed Halo. Bullet spread over peer-to-peer connections in Halo 3 pushed loyal players to COD for a more consistent experience. Reach removed any competitive skill based gameplay with bloom, sprint, and armor abilities. So there went the esports community. Halo 4 decided to keep all of this even though they said they “were bringing Halo back.” H2A was the best version of Halo to date but completely abandoned with 5 maps? 6 maps? Halo 5 was a terrible attempt to once again force sprint into the game and every map looked like a -Yoink-. Sprint killed Halo and kept it dead. I was there, I told everyone back in 2007 this franchise was going down the tubes. I said it again in 2010, didn’t even bother buying 4, and sold my xbox after two games of Halo 5 beta. But if we want to keep denying the obvious and upholding the inane because 3-5 thousand people like it, we still have MCC I suppose. But I would rather see Halo became the most popular FPS once again.

Going to strongly disagree with you. I have played Halo since the launch of Halo 2 and my friends went to CoD because of reach…which had sprint. So you are saying sprint killed the game yet they went to a game with sprint. That makes no sense. Armor abilities absolutely pushed people away from Reach and other Halo games. We won’t see eye to eye about this regardless.

Because sprint was in a game with a starting gun that had the accuracy of Michael J Fox on a trampoline playing darts. That gun also happened to be a 5 shot kill which could just be ran away from, because again, sprint.

So of course, if someone has to have sprint shoved down their throat, might as well be a game with a much lower time to kill.

Aim assist feels good on pc with a controller. Are you asking for it to be nerfed or buffed on pc? I don’t want to have to go buy a series S just so I can have proper aim assist. Aim assist should remain the same between controller players on pc and console imo.

We need sprint to slide into dms

Console has like no aim assist on specific weapons. I played on both and weapons like the snipers have virtually zero aim assist.

Sounds like you just can’t aim and looking to blame sprint. Sprinting from a fire fight isn’t even an option. Unless cover is near by which you can get behind without Sprint. Get ya accuracy up. Pistol was great in H5

Aim assist seems to be in a decent place right now, it was too strong in the older games and seems a bit fairer now. A sniper should be hard to use, specially given the 1 shot potential in a fairly high ttk game

Do you really think that just adding sprint to a game would kill it ? On the same token you think Halo infinite success rellies on removing sprint ?

Sprint barely makes a difference in movement speed, if you are really that against it just unbind it and walk around the maps

Oh I don’t mind it however the Sniper does need a tad more aim assist. It will literally be unusable for people outside of sweats like us.

Fair enough. Bullet magnetism seems quite toned down on the sniper from what I’ve seen compared to older games so I guess a bit more aim assist could be needed for the sniper.

Disagree. Recharge is another rehash of riptide, molten, and that other super boring UNSC factory map from H5. Idk why 343 seems to love boring factory maps but they do and they have so much of them. Live fire is pretty boring as well. Plays like a cod map with 3 defined hallways and not much verticality or cover.

Compared to h4/5 its much less. I find the h2/3 sniper really smooth and nice to use. Here it feels awkward and clunky. But I also feel the aiming is awkward and clunky in general.

I really like that base movement speed and sprint speed are closer than they ever have been. I think they should keep it for the slide.

> > > > > >

> > > > >
> > > >
> > > >
> > >
> >
> >
>
> Sounds like you just can’t aim and looking to blame sprint. Sprinting from a fire fight isn’t even an option. Unless cover is near by which you can get behind without Sprint. Get ya accuracy up. Pistol was great in H5

So 980,000 people just couldn’t aim?
