I just wanted to start a thread discussing the possibility of integrating a custom game search in game. It seems like a lot of the people I have been playing with have been trouble finding people to play competitive customs with to prepare for tournaments or game battles and such. I think it would be really cool if 343 could put in a search for customs that included open and closed games that were going on. I don’t know much about the programing side of this but I think that maybe a Ghost Recon game I played along time ago had a similar feature.
If it is possible, and I wouldn’t expect it to be any time soon, I included open and closed games so that there could be some differentiation between those who are just looking for anyone, less competitive games, and closed competitive games. If the party was listed for the closed games, or maybe just the party leader then the one doing the search could message that person and network for either future customs, or when a slot opens up for that game from someone leaving.
As of now I have found my competitive team has turned to twitter and other social media to find customs. I think that this would be a good way to help people who don’t want to deal with twitter to find a custom.
Any thoughts?
