I am experiencing an issue where my game’s screen will freeze, but I can hear the game continuing in the background. To clarify, when the screen freezes up, I hear audio, and can even use my keyboard commands to cycle through bases/units, etc. A few minutes later, the game quietly exits - no error or anything (that I notice anyway). Playing on lowest settings as graphics don’t really matter to me in RTS. I play mostly 3v3 where this issue occurs, but also happens in 2v2 gameplay. I am using wireless internet but basically rule this out as a potential issue as I don’t lose connection to my party chat.
Windows 10 64-bit (fully updated)
Processor: Intel i5-9600K (3.70 GHz)
RAM: 16GB
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti
Probably not related, but figured i’d mention that all my unlocked leaders are now locked too. This happened about 3 weeks ago to my friend as well. He had to reinstall the game to get them back… i’m hoping this isn’t permanent for me. I don’t quite feel like uninstalling/reinstalling a 70 gig game that drops me from games left and right. If we can find a fix, that’d be great though. I love the game, but being 10 minutes into a game and freezing is a huge waste of time - ESPECIALLY when i’m with 2 other friends in a 3v3. Nobody wants to play with me until this is fixed.

Still happening guys, this time 4 seconds into a mach. The good news is that heard my harvester was constructed…
This happens to me every now and then on the Xbox. Twice yesterday. No clue if it ended the game for all 6 parties or just kicked me out.
I have had so many issues with this game and what you’re experiencing is one of them. I uninstalled and reinstalled it to fix that, but now my game just crashes when it reaches 1 on the countdown.
Still happening… There has to be some type of moderator or something that can help get answers for this. Pretty sick of being 1 match away from ranking up then losing 60 points because I “abandon” the match, rather than being defeated. Awesome. I wish you could disconnect and reconnect, but the game doesn’t support that. If you disconnect for a single second your base blows up and your team loses.
I don’t get to game often, being a father of 2 and being the only working adult in my marriage, but when I do play, I make sure I play the most unsupported games.
Hi (new to this forum), I’ve been playing Halo Wars 2 for over a year now, and I’m just experiencing this too. Oddly enough this actually happened with another game first (Nier Automata). It just happened to me mid Firefight match. So I’m wondering if it’s just a recent nvidia driver bugs. But since it’s also happened to xbox peeps, not sure now.
It would be nice to hear from someone at 343. It’s been 5 months and i’m still getting issues every couple games - and of course, I win 2 games in a row and this bug happens, losing me more points than I won in 2 games.
I’m wondering if there is a moderator in this forum at all?

There is.
Anyway, are all of your system features updated? Have you checked settings or done Safe Mode with Networking to determine if a issue occurs?
Nice to see still no resolution to this. I’ve just reinstalled it to hopefully play it with no issues and I am still crashing. Very helpful 343.
