Game refusing to install

Every time I try to install MCC the game will get to 13.86GB and then refuse to go any further. I have tried installing it with the disc and updates simultaneously, the disc alone and the disc alone offline. It never goes past this point. To make it even weirder when I do the disc and updates together I usually get to roughly 12GB on the disc and 1GB on the update which both add to 13.86. I have reset the xbox many times and I do not have this problem with any other game. I have seen solutions to go to the store to install from there with the disc inside the xbox but this option is not there. Does anyone know a solution for this? Thanks.

  • Are you installing to an external hard drive? - Is your disc scratched?

Internal Xbox One standard version and the disc looks like it’s fine but I suppose that even the slightest scratch can cause this so I’ll look for a replacement.

Do you have a friend/relative that has the disc already? You may be able to install from their disc, return it to them, and then use your disc moving forward. My understanding of XBONE functionality is the disc is really only used in the install, after that it’s basically a physically fragile .exe file to launch a game.

I actually gave it a clean and tried installing it. This time I actually got a message that the disc is damaged. Hopefully I’ll find another copy cheap online.
