What kind of modes should there be or will there be?
Would really like for Breakout and Invasion to return.
If Infinite is going to be open world I would assume there are some huge maps to be had. One playlist could be like big team battle but many times bigger. That would be radical!!
They need to up the player count from 16 to 32.
Id appreciate Objective modes getting proper attention. More specifically, one-sided, round-based modes like One Flag and One Bomb returning.

Derogatory term used in the US Marines (and some parts of the US Army) stands for Person Other than a Grunt. As a former Air-winger I wear this badge with pride because Grunts are stupid, seriously 2 plasma grenades for a suicide rush? That is a perfectly good example of a waste of munitions right there (lol we could never be friends).
- As for game modes well A campaign should be one, something that completes the story but allows room for side stories to be included in later downloadable services. - Also we should expect some online multiplayers, that includes some arena (to appease the MLG folks but I don’t really care about them). - At the very least 16 player multiplayer over both LAN and online. - Forge and Theater on launch would be nice but if they are added in (not as paid DLC) later that would be acceptable (Halo 2 didn’t have those).Game modes I would like to see
- Firefight mode would be interesting, maybe even give us more forge tools to put in LZs and Enemy spawns. Can you imagine making your own campaign level on Forge World? - I didn’t play infection, but the concept is cool, and to give H4 credit where credit is due, it made infected spartan models for that game mode. - Invasion, I love the concept of UNSC vs Covenant, maybe even give us some Marines/ODST & Grunts/Jackals on the battle field but don’t make them Req packs. - I wasn’t a fan of Spartan Ops It seems like if we had enemy spawns in forge the community could have made the levels themselves. But I won’t count out Episodic Campaign. Maybe some downloadable side stories where you are not the Big MC or Spartan, something more than just an Elite. We played as ODST on the H3 engine, that could be interesting to explore gain, or even better, play as a Brute, maybe be part of a Covenant Civil War. Heck I would even throw in a Promethean Knight with better Promethean Vision and maybe some super armor abilities like Teleport. I would even be down with a mini flood campaign where you are a combat form and your armor ability is flood leap. - So I know Halo isn’t really a flight game and that it was a good choice to make the Saber only a small part of one level, but maybe just give us some mod tools and a few outer space models so we could try and make UNSC Top Gun. I would like to see the destruction of the Reach Fleet and not just a couple of small frigates that die in one shot.Anton XBL For Open world, well I wouldn’t be totally for an open world but one that is a little more instanced just to control the pacing. I wouldn’t mind a HUB as a home base such as hangar deck of a UNSC ship that between match or missions you could just walk around and browse, pick up some weapons for your next assignment. Unlock some classified or captured weapons in the Oni Labs (or a Covenant Trophy room if on a CCS ship). A nice base that gives you a feeling of setting up before a mission before you hop into a pelican or into a drop pod on your next assignment be it campaign or multiplayer.
For the verses mode (because who wants peace in a FPS game?) In another thread I already posted my crazy idea of a UNSC vs Covenant LZ control mode where everyone spawns in Pelican or Phantom Drop ship that lands on LZs dropping of respawning players and NPCs and equipment to start building the LZ into a base camp. In the skies people can call for bombing runs or orbital strikes even shoot down dropships killing all the NPCs (Respawning Players will be fine), down below is forerunner tunnels (like a moba jungle) where you can work to unlock rooms and teleporters and short cuts but be careful or you may stumble upon the Flood or activate a few aggressive Sentinels/Prometheans by accident.
It really bothers me whenever gametypes are missing in the next entry like VIP or Reach’s Race gametypes. Hopefully they can give us every gametypes prior or give us the tools to create any gametype we would like.
I really want to see BTB, Infection, and Invasion gametypes. Those are most important to me.

Round based modes are the best.

We can do it in H5, but it’s awkward to set up and is time consuming.
Invasion and firefight.

Didn’t really care for breakout but Invasion would be cool.
All of the gamemodes that were in the original 3 should return. Capture the Flag. King of the Hill. Territories. Infection. Slayer. Oddball. Race. VIP. Etc.
I want content and gamemodes at Launch.

Yeah I agree - its weird how the zombie game types aren’t in MCC though
