Game Modes in Custom Games.

For all those who’ve played Halo: Reach and Halo 4 with some decent experience, you’ll understand what I’ll be going to saying about this.
In Halo: Reach, the Forging is really fun, though the tools were a bit difficult to deal with, and the game modes were very handy to deal with.
In Halo 4, it has some great forging tools, but lacked some tremendous forging space, and sadly, the game modes and forge objects (through my early experience, may I remind you, I haven’t stuck around on Halo 4 for a long time.) were rather… limited.

Most of us might’ve already seen Halo 5’s Forge Mode, which is coming out in December, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDltTQiZMmw
This Forge Mode looks like it has passed beyond Halo 4’s tool interface, which is great!
1,600+ Objects? That’s a really large amount of objects, hopefully not used by a third of the 1,600+ objects, based on three different canvases. I hope I’m wrong! I’d like to be able to add some ice on the alpine canvas, or some trees in space. Makes things interesting, y’know? =P
The canvases are bigger, they claim it to be big, unlike Halo 4’s many forge-able canvases. It had better not be like Halo 4’s standard canvases(Except for Forge Island, though it’s not as cool as Forge World.), ho-ho! That just wouldn’t be right.

When I browsed through Halo 5’s game modes, I was disappointed that they haven’t shown something as popular as Infection.
Of course, I may be worrying unnecessarily. Perhaps the game mode will come out in the future along with Forge Mode, or a little sooner than that, who knows?

So, now to the point… it’s the title of my topic:
People love playing big maps and custom game modes, otherwise it would limit the fun to have; like racetracks, jump-rope, slides, or survival maps. These things make a game fun.
That’s what games are all about… you make up the rules of the game, you make the board, then set your player on the board as well as the others setting theirs, and finally have fun!

Will Infection/Flood come out? Will game modes like Grifball return? Will there be some new fun game modes Halo 5 might want to release? Will Gravity Hammers ever return? I just have to know! It’s what I’ve been waiting for! Is it what’ you’ve been waiting for?
Please, leave a response!

Sincerely,
Junsa Faia

Too much to read. But yeah Reaches base forge map (Forge world) is the best to date. Even the crappy grey blocks trumped H4’s white with invisible wall gaps.

H4 brought some new stuff like *trait zones which were brilliant. Shouldn’t have done away with custom power ups but both would have been nice. *Gravity volumes get another thumbs up. The infinity drop *pod reward thing was very handy in customs but not in matchmaking, shame it probs isn’t an option in 5.

Downsides - *Magnets?- Once you save a map and go back everything moved out of place. You had to ‘edit coordinates’ on everything to make sure it was solid. *Small forge maps with limited boundaries. No weapons on the field for infection the infected couldn’t wield guns and no alpha zombie.

I’d quit for a while so Ive missed the switch scripting that was in MCC I think? So excited to use that.

Customization of gametypes in 4 were terrible! Atrocious! Forge is nothing without a wide spread of gametypes and options and that is my main concern for 5!!!

EDIT- Forgot that filthy bug that sometimes overwrote your old maps. Was in reach and wasn’t fixed in 4. Caused me big time stress. I can’t remember the details but I really hope that’s fixed. Days down the drain!

Ugh, I hated the loss of my work on Halo: Reach with that bug around…
And yes, Game modes are key to forge maps.
Nobody makes maps just for Slayer/CTF game modes… that would be unbelievably boring, because you can already do that stuff in Arena.
So yeah, there has to be custom game modes.
Plus, I think they should add more options on game modes… like how fast you can melee repetitively or how slow-mo, y’know?
