Game modes at launch

I did enjoy halo 5 but no one can deny it launched with a lack of gamemodes. This was by far the thing that bothered me most about it. I don’t think any shooter has more game modes/types than Halo so seeing that Halo 5 launched with very little variety was upsetting. Even though I enjoy the gameplay, the lack of modes eventually starts to show.

I think Halo infinite is going to be a complete game when it launched. They have had the most developing time and even though they spent time making the slipspace engine, they said it will make work much easier. List all the game modes you must see at launch. Then add anything new that would be a nice addition.

I want loads of game modes at launch

The lack of gamemodes and missing features for H5 made the game feel very rushed. It was missing features that were staples of the series since H3 and it was unacceptable. I do believe in quality over quantity, but I expect at the very least to have Slayer, Flag, assault, KoH, maybe zones, and big team versions of all these game types. Forge and theatre mode should also be included in the base game. This is bare minimum.

First of all, Multiplayer has to be seperated into 3 sections

  • FFA - 1vs1 - 2vs2 - 4vs4 - 8vs8 - ? ? ? (Depends if a brandnew gamemode is in planning)Following Gamemodes have to have their own Slots

Showdown w. following variants: Regular Showdown, Swat, Extermination
Capture the Flag w. following variants: One Flag CTF, CTF 3 & CTF 5, Gungoose CTF
KotH w. following variants: Crazy King, Team crazy King, Roaming King, Headhunter, Territorries, Strongholds
Oddball w. following variants: Regular Oddball, Rocketball, Swordball, Team Reign
Assault w. following variants: One Bomb, Multi Bomb
Team Snipers w. following variants: Regular Team Snipers, Shotty Snipers
Infection w. following variants: Regular Infection, Linear Infection
Firefight: Similiar to Odst & Reach w. no reqs.
Action Sack w. following variants: Castle Wars, Grifball, Super Fiesta, Race different community-made gamemodes that can be added / removed based on the population

Potenial ideas f. new gamemodes

Make use of the Halo Universe - This Franchise has much to offer, you just have to implement them in the right way. Tie the stuff that we’ve seen in various campaign missions into the Multiplayer. I’m not saying that you have to throw everything in for Fan Service, just be aware that you already have those assets.

Example: Elephants, like Bungie did in H3. We’ve seen 2 Space Missions (Reach, 4), why not try to break barriers by making a new Space Gamemode? Why not introduce the Scarab in an Invasion-like Gamemode? Hell, you could even include civilians into the Multiplayer in any given Firefight Variant. Maybe there’s a new variant where you have to protect 100 Civilians (Every Minute 10 of them get “rescued”), the more civilians you save, the more XP you get. You could even drive them around and try to protect them. I’m not saying that this has to be the ultimate way to go, it’s just an idea and I think something similiar to this could be hilarious. Maybe even tie in the marines? But Marines that actually look like Soldiers and not some Dwarf-Power Rangers. I hope you get what my point is.

I’m sure that I forgot to mention some Gamemodes, the ones I’ve mentioned above were the first that came to my mind.
