Game modes added through DLC?

I want to know the thoughts of the community when it comes to receiving game modes through DLC? Free or paid, should developers start to stick new game types or old ones, like Infection and Firefight, in DLC?

Halo 5 has produced a hybrid DLC campaign, which resulted in mixed reviews among the community, some felt it kept the game fresh, others thought the content should of been made available day one. So same question, does adding game modes through DLC provide a longer, last experiencing for the title, or is it a desperate move on the developers end and overall disappointment for the player’s lack of choices?

EDIT: Better way to phrase the question, should DLC start providing game modes or stick with cosmetic/customization items (i.e, armor, stances, skins)?

I think they should be investing time in more game modes than new weapons and maps and the general updates they have all ready done.

Its what I think has been missing for a while is enough core game modes. I don’t play Btb and warzone because I love the modes but because it’s the best the game has to offer.

There has been so many alternatives made by the community with the assets available but that no good if they aren’t put into a playlist. I don’t have enough people to squad up with never mind getting 2 teams together for a custom.

If you are talking about DLC you pay for no. But in Halo 5’s case where it has microtransactions then yes.

In terms of Halo games specifically the ONLY DLC should be Maps, that’s it, nothing else, paid or free, just maps, Halo 5 had 0 free “DLC” but quite a few free updates, Halo 5 basically did what Minecraft does, but Halo had the audacity to call it DLC when in reality it wasn’t, as updates FORCE you to download them whereas DLC is entirely optional. So no, nothing should be added through DLC other than maps in the Halo franchise.

DLC isn’t always entirely optional look at Doom’s DLC you have to download it even tho you can’t use it.
