Well got me thinkin ,not saying all but I would say there is a fair amount of people complaining about sprint in the game, now here is my take on the topic, I think adding sprint was a good idea as it has pushed the game toward, if they took it out they would just be going back on them selfs, but my idea for a game mode would to simply make a mode on arena called classic, where you can’t sprint you cant clamber shoulder bash, dash, or ground pound, simple, then all the classic halo fans can play that game mode all they want, thoughts?.. Me personally like the new abilities, it’s shows the full power of the spartan

We don’t need just a game mode. We need an entirely new game that uses Halo 2 and Halo 3 as a template to develop a true Halo successor.
They can call it the Classic Playlist.
That won’t work either. Some “classic” players want no sprint, but some abilities. Others want no sprint and no abilities. And then others want sprint, but no abilities…
You can’t please everyone.
No, if they don’t want to play Halo 5 they have every right to quit. I say quit trying to accommodate everyone.

So…Halo 3.5.
Bruh Halo 3 already happened.

Like what ^ said if they remove something, anything, someone is going to complain even if the community was begging for it, region lock is a prime example of this.
A classic game mode would be amazing to see, but than again there are people who want no sprint & no abilities, than there are those who want sprint & no abilities, but than there are who want both, so it would be difficult to make it come together.

The template for games post-Halo Trilogy had been Halo Reach. That’s the issue. Halo 4 is a great example of this, while Halo 5 somewhere around Reach and Halo 3. It’s better, and I welcome some new additions (particularly Thrusters), but the entire reason there is such a great divide in players is because of how drastic some changes were. Some are fine with it, others dislike how it killed the identity Halo made for itself. The franchise follows trends now, and it isn’t as unique of a gameplay experience as it once was.
I don’t want Halo 3.5. I want a proper sequel that doesn’t segregate its community and is fun to come back to and play.
I still remember when they added the classic playlist to Reach, and it had the lowest population of all the playlists. No AA’s, no loadouts, fixed bloom, increased movement speed. It just wasn’t all that popular. Maybe it was too little too late or the maps weren’t meant for that type of gameplay, but the population for that playlist was pretty anemic.
Infortunatly this wouldn’t work either. There are some obstacles in this game that just can’t be jumped over. You have to have clamber to be able to use the maps like they were created. As much of a classic halo lover I am I would just prefer to have a playlist (ranked/unranked) with a starting BR.i just don’t think it’s possible to use the maps correctly without sprint or clamberb
Classic play mechanics should be applied to Grifball, tried playing H5 GB after being above avg on Reach and I was obliterated. All this charging and sliding nonsense just doesn’t feel like GB.

how does this thread not get locked? Insulting classic players by downplay their critic as “crying” is hardly a good start for a rational discussion…

That right there is a good question… anybody?
Time to move on Spartan. RIP Halo CE - 4.

Maybe because no one bought Halo CE anniversary to play on Reach Multiplayer, there is a barrier on how to access the playlist to begin with
I loved Squad Slayer on Reach but it was long gone

To be clear, this was when Reach dropped. Not MCC nor the backwards compatibility Reach. This was from when Reach released on the 360.

Yeah I agree, so they should make a map designed for this game mode
