OK; this is annoying me to no end. I am from Finland, and the whole game is (apart from dialogue) is translated into Finnish. Why? How do I turn it into English? Console language is English, yet the whole game is in Finnish, which really ruins it for me, because I dont understand a -Yoink- of what the game tells me when I am playing. Really confusing with all the text up on the screen pulling weird translations. Heck, took me well over ten minutes to figure out what game mode Big Team Slayer was.
How do I turn it into English, please help! This is ruining my gaming experience…
Sadly buying the english version is the only solution, it frustrates me too.
I don’t want to hear a bad german translation where all feeling gets lost.
Master Chiefs voice is like he’s on helium, Contana talks to him like a stranger.
I hope 343 releases a free english language pack on live, because it goes too far in this one. Even the multiplayer is forced to my language (german) and that ruines communication with the team completely. I always play my games in english because I want it the way the devs built it and that I can communicate easily.
I orginally wanted to import it from UK but all limited editions where gone already, so I bought the german version and thought it won’t hurt. In the halo games so far, only the campaign was forced to the local language, but it in Halo4, everything is except the text
If you can’t understand finnish, you have a big problem. Maybe talk to Microsoft that you want your money back. I want 343 to release the english language per download but it needs to care many people in the forum.
I got the exact same problem, only with Dutch…
Everything in the game is English, except for the announer in multiplayer. I now get “WRAAK!” instead of “REVENGE!” etc, and it’s annoying the crap out of me…
Please give us an option to change this! I never had this issue before in any other game.
This is really annoying… I also think that its real weird they would only include Finnish in the game in Finland since both Swedish and Finnish are native languages here, effectively leaving a large part of the population going WTF while they are trying to figure out what button to press…
Try clearing the cache and rebooting your Xbox system (after this check the language en locale again!). If that still fails reinstall the second Halo disc

We want our multiplayer announcer, who says stuff like “TRIPLE KILL !!!11” to speak english and not german, spanish or whatever. Is it really going to do this or are we talking past each? Just wondering why it didn’t work yet.
