Game is broken and Day One patch didn't do a thing

I bought this game early on Windows 10 (Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition) and since downloading it I have not been able to get into any gameplay.
The game will launch and load to main menu fine everything in that works fine but the second I start up a skirmish match or start a campaign
mission the game just crashes out no error codes nothing just a complete crash of the game. “Day One” patch has done nothing to fix this issue
even after restarting my computer and all my drivers are up to date. Halo Wars 1 (Halo Wars: Definitive Edition) Works fine as does other games
like Forza Horizon 3 work fine aswell this issue seems to only be from Halo Wars 2.
My system is well above min and rec spec:

Intel I7-6700K @4.00
EVGA Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080
16gb Kingston DDR4-2400

hmm… I’m not sure your pc specs are new enough. I think it might be time for an upgrade.

yes… this game is broken. Its not like this is their first game. I dont know what went so wrong

Hey I’ll be upgrading as soon as them 1080ti’s drop :'D Maybe then I’ll have enough power under the hood to run this game :'P Might need a second to see decent performance

Release build was working fine for me, Patch day broke the game for me.
