Game Informer Magazine on halo 4

I’m not sure if this is old news or not, I haven’t been on these forums for a couple of weeks. But I was reading a game informer magazine about halo 4 and saw some stuff that pretty much confirmed a COD like halo game. Like I said, I’m not sure if this is old news but I’ll share and see what you guys think.

-Sprint is an AA that everyone spawns with, along with either jet pack or hologram (others were not listed).

-Loadouts let you change primary weapon, secondary weapon, grenades etc.

-Spartan point system is in place to buy new weapons and Loadouts.

-Power weapons will now be air lifted in and dropped into random points on the map.

I’m going to remain open to changes and wait until I actually play the game to judge it. But I think that now there is no denying that they are taking the path of COD and other popular franchises by implementing loadouts and class systems into the game.

It’s been more than a week, of course it’s old here.
343i has already clarified a few things that might be interesting for you : the weapons spawns will be predictable, for exemple.

So just because they added customized loadouts you’re calling it CoD?

/facepalm…
Plus CoD copied Halo with Theater mode and fileshare…you dont see the fans call it “Halo” ripoff.

In CoD, u can kill with 1 bullet/ there’s no shield/ no armor customization…
Halo is Halo
CoD is CoD

Ah I see, that would make sense. Thanks for the clarification.

Already happened

Sprint is something that is every new game (that I know of) and i personally like thaat change.

The loadouts more then likley will not allow every weapon to be spawned with, and will only allow players to choose theyr playstyle, rather then get to a high level and have much better equipment then new players.

Spartan points i don’t like, but the COD points were only in one COD, and it was the only one that didn’t seem like all the others to me, and it was the worst one.

No weapons are randomly droped on COD maps, and I can’t think of any other game that does.

Honestly, I like the sound of the changes, although I am still a little sceptical about the loadouts, but we will see how it all works soon enough.

Honestly man, I’m just trying to gather some information. I read this magazine last night and am skeptical to a few of the things that were included in the article and came here to verify.

Never mind

that doesn’t mean you should compare it to CoD.

I’m just interested to see how this plays out. Especially the loadouts and the weapon drops.

So it’s a bit faster paced than the previous titles and has custom loadouts, and that automatically makes it CoD. Come on.

But I’d love to see those weapon drops on a Forge map.

Halo is evolving. If they kept it the same as it’s always been, it would be exactly like CoD; boring and repetitive. It was going to happen at some point.

I completely agree, I think a couple of the things they are doing are good for the series. Like weapon drops, that would be incredible in custom games. But sprint plus jetpack!?!? That sounds a bit extreme to me. Obviously spartan points, or something similar, were going to happen eventually that is just the evolution of modern gaming, customization. But like I said I’m still going to buy the game because I enjoy Halo much more than cod or any other game.

Going in order:

Power weapons are not randomly dropped. They just have multiple spawn locations rather than 1 set location to keep players moving instead of being in one spot the majority of the match.

Loadouts are more similar to Gears of War instead of CoD. From what I gathered, you’re more likely to pick from at least the AR, the Magnum, the BR and the DMR as your Primary and Secondary weapon. We may pick based on personally playstyle, and what we think will work best for the map. This also reduces having some idiot run up to the enemy base with the BR and Carbine and practically give them the guns, leaving your team at a disadvantage.

AAs do not have enough description to help itself. However, Frankie did confirm that Armor lock will not be available for multiplayer.

We got nothing on Modifications. Game Informer failed on that.

We got nothing on Grenade selection. However, I doubt we’ll be able to pick any instant-kill grenades, such as the plasma grenade, for our loadout.

This is just based on the few info we got, and some are just speculation. I seriously doubt we’re going with CoD since that game is no-where near Halo outside of it being a FPS. I think they’re looking at Gears for some inspiration.

Why shouldn’t we be allowed to pick plasma grenades for a load-out? I’ve been killed by frag grenades far more often than plasma grenades. Yes it is due in part to the fact that you don’t spawn with Plasma Grenades. It is also, however, due to the fact that it is so much easier to avoid getting killed by a plasma grenade than it is a frag grenade due to the fuse time on the plasma grenades.

I’ll be genuinely irritated if I can’t choose plasmas as part of my load-out…

Old news. =P
I’m excited for Spartan Ops, and the campaign. That’s what the Gameinformer got me excited for!! =)

I Always say that cod copied those from Halo. lol I got tired of cod being the same thing, so now I pick on the Dozens and Dozens of things wrong with it. lol =P
and I’m with you on this, the games are Completely different, so how can they be the same unless you change Everything Completely. =P
