game froze? what does this mean? with dvr link

I added a video of the problem.

to summarise I was playing some heroic firefight mode and was running and shooting and all that stuff then suddenly the display glitches and i am sent to a dead screen. I see my little fireteam display in the top right, the firefight background and the quit, carnage, spartan hub and mute option in the bottom left. And thats it. And it has been showing me that now for over 20 minutes. My entire halo 5 game has locked itself down. Obviously i have no capacity to resume playing and i will be forced to exit the game.

My question is - what has happened??

PS upon rewatching the clip between 24 and 25 seconds the visual glitch is actually the warzone menu. Its acting as if i was never playing and was joining the menu. it shows up the “heroic warzone firefight” info box before immediately cutting to the broken screen.

what causes this? I have seen it in the past, how do i prevent it from happening? Do i have such a preventative capacity or is this a thing that i just have to accept that from time to time i will be ejected from my game and forced to exit if i want to do anything ever again?

The game crashed… No telling why. I’ve been getting a black screen with the game playing but no video. Xbox update or game, no telling what did it.

boo thats lame, and i bet i wont be able to get my blue quality xp boost back either. its also been destroyed through no fault of my own, oh and the “awesome” DNF on my last game… lol

it just did it again. after seeing if anything would happen for nearly 40 minutes i exited the game and restarted it, went into a new firefight and boom same thing quick glitch to the menu screen then switch to the broken screen and im forced to exit, another DNF against my name. I better not be getting negative marks for the GAME breaking on me and forcing me to DNF
