Update: I forgot about this post, the issue seems to have fixed itself. But I heard vsync and fullscreen settings might help you if you have a similar problem.
Sometimes in the middle of the game, my famerate rapidly decreases until the game is frozen (Sometimes it instantly freezes). I become unable to alt-tab, crtl+alt+delete, etc. I am forced to restart my computer and the worst part is that this is completely random.
This used to happen only when playing online multiplayer, but recently it started happening in singleplayer campaign as well.
Googling the issue has been very difficult, the search engine insists that I only see results regarding freezing on the main menu. The few forum threads I could find, however involved a few, widely varying methods that have so far done nothing for me.
These methods include:
-Reinstalling the game twice (And verifying the game cache)
-Repairing/Reinstalling the Easy Anti-Cheat program
-Adjusting the virtual memory in Windows manually
-Running in Administrator mode
-Deleting/Replacing game files in several different folders
-REINSTALLING WINDOWS 10.
At first I believed it wasn’t the game, but my computer. However, after wiping my hard drive and reinstalling my OS, the problem persists. I can only guess the issue is coming from the game at this point. as it’s also the only game that does this to my computer.
Repairing the Easy Anti-Cheat program did seem to the fix the problem at first, but a few weeks later it happened again out of nowhere.
The big problem is that most of these came from forum threads associated with the UE4 Fatal Error problem, which is not what I’m dealing with unfortunately. I don’t get any crash info or an error message.
I have only been able to find one single forum thread where the problem is very similar to mine, but there are only a couple of replies stating they have the same issue, and nothing more. I have run out of ideas for a solution at this point and could use some help if anybody has any other ideas. Thanks in advance
