When playing halo ce anniversary today, the game crashed in the level ‘into the belly of the beast’ where you are in the covenant ship to rescue captain keys.
I don’t recall the exact spot where it happened, but suddenly the picture froze and the game would not react to any input. I had to push the power button to shut down my xbox 360.
Did anyone else had freezes during the campaign? Can this be a bug or is there something wrong with my console?
I’m using an xbox 360 slim which I bought only a couple of days ago.
Have you tried running through again (you can go ahead and start at the checkpoint or you can restart)? If its a persistent error, then its most likely a problem with the disc. If it fixes, then its just a temporary issue with the console (it happens to everyone).

I installed the game to the hard drive. However, now that i checked the disc I noticed a tiny scratch on it. But apart from that it is in perfect condition and it’s a brand new disc which I received yesterday.
I will try to run through that level again today and see whether the problem persists. I’m not sure whether the game autosaves the progress or if it is only saving on exit. So I might need to start in one of the previous levels when I saved my game the last time.

If it froze for you too, then this indeed appears to be a bug in the game. At least I did not have any problems with any other game I own so far.
Did you also had to turn off your device by pushing the power button or could you at least return to the dashboard by using the guide button?
