Game freezes at initial loading screen

When I try to launch the game, I have a black screen with a spinning circle in the bottom left. After like 30 seconds, it freezes and the application stops responding.

Mine gets a bit after that, to the main menu and then crashes giving me a bsod
I’m replying so your post can get more traction

Mine crashed at the initial press enter screen. After that it crashes at the initial load screen almost seconds after launching the game.

Mine crashes the same way. Loads up. sits there for a bit then crashes out doesn’t even launch. One time it lasted a minute and then it crashed anyways. I don’t even touch anything.

I’ve currently tried re downloading the game and validating the game files, but so far no luck. Oddly enough validating the game files did make steam download an update to it’s common files, but it did not seem to have an effect. Still crashing seconds into the black loading screen.

it finally work for me
I freed up a bit of ram and waited like ten minutes for the starting processes to finish so my hard drive wasn´t in full use. Then I managed to lower the settings in the flight and successfully go back to desktop without it crashing. After that I could play no problem, well with 22fps on low but play nonetheless.

I have an Intel i7 8700 a Radeon RX580 and 12GB of RAM (only like 7ish of those are available tho).
There are probably performance issues on my end, but I hope 343 can optimize the hell out of infinite for launch.

Maybe this can help you guys

  1. If you have Radeon GPU make sure your drivers are up to date.
  2. The game is very resource intensive and poorly optimized. I have a Ryzen 3600 and 1080 ti and can barely get 60 FPS on low settings 1440p. If your rig is more than 3 or 4 years old, it’s likely that your hardware just can’t handle the build.

I’m not sure if this will help anyone, but my issue is fixed.

I am running windows 11, which I thought might have something to do with it… Maybe? but after installing the latest update, all of a sudden halo infinite worked perfectly for me.

Moral of the story make sure literally everything is up to date.

God speed to anyone still having issues.

Once I updated my Nvidia drivers it worked great! I saw that on another forum here and it seemed to do the trick for a handful of people.

So… I was definitely off base with my guess about windows 11 updating being my fix. That was last night and this morning the game was freezing again.

But with that in mind I thought maybe the act of the computer restarting during the update is what actually fixed it?

I restarted my computer again this morning and launched the game. Worked perfectly again.

so… I guess… Try turning your computer off and on again? X-D
