So I have a group of friends who I play Halo 4 with. A few are from the states and 1 is a fellow Canadian who lives 15 minutes away. When the group plays without me there is 4 of them 3 with open NAT and 1 with a closed NAT, they find games relatively easy. When I join it completely changes, they have major problems finding any style game other then Rumble pit I think, even when the closed NAT guy is not online and there is only 4 of us it is still next to impossible to find a game…
I know I have a Open NAT and that the 3 others are also open. Has anyone else experienced this problem or even heard tell of it.
Are you guys very different in skill level? It may be that TrueSkill is finding it difficult to find players that meet the skill matching criteria (whatever those are) if your friends are all one skill level, but you are very different.
That Maximus IL will get you a Thank you!!! Never thought to check that. I just checked that and I am actually the second highest in the group with others below me. The Highest guy is always the party leader even when I am not on… So it could be that…
Not sure if that’s it, though. I would have expected that you would be the highest if the problem only exists when you are in their party. Of course, I don’t know the exact parameters used for matching, so it could be that including you raises the overall party’s TrueSkill total to a level where there are fewer matchable players. Anyway, I think that is a possible explanation.
It’s the difference in the ranks. I have the same issue when I play with a couple of my friends that just started playing Halo again so they are significantly lower than I am making the game seem like it takes forever to find a match.
