Game deleted all my saved Forge files

So I decided to continue on a map that I was making in Forge and found out that the game has deleted all the maps I was working on and all the prefabs I’ve made. Has this happened to anyone else?

At this point I’m debating if I should just start over or give up because this just sucks.

Same problem here as of today

I just read that your saved files will be deleted after 30 days. To save your files so they do not get deleted

  1. Goto My Files
  2. Right click your mouse to select file
  3. Select view details
  4. Goto Version History
  5. Highlight the file your want to keep ( Lock )
  6. On middle right screen Select LOCK!

I did not know this and I just locked all my files to make sure they do not get deleted!

Also I am unable to see any of the files or Information about the files so cannot click on anything

Is it every file including the current or just the version history? I’ve locked my most recent, but that’s it.

Once you are on the Forge menu:

  1. Click “Maps”.
  2. Click “My Files”.
  3. Hover over the map you want.
  4. Press X to “View Details”.
  5. Scroll down to “Version History” (under the “Owner” tab).
  6. Highlight the file you want to keep (use LT and RT to change pages. Earlier versions will be at the end).
  7. Highlight “Lock” on the right side of the screen and press A.
  8. Profit.

I’ve just had the same thing happen to me. I had completed one map and was getting close to finishing my second which was a btb map. Needless to say as much as I love this game I am now tempted to just uninstall.

Oddly enough if i create a new map and save and leave forge and try to load the new map it still says no results found. So currently I canteven start a new map if I wanted to

I knew, just knew that making Forge require an internet connection would be a disaster that would cause issues like this. Glad that I moved on from Halo.

I lost all my saves too.
Also have issue with not visually seeing selected items now too.

we need to be able to save our OWN MAPS and PREFABS to our OWN STORAGE DEVICES so we can make backup. This is BS that we have to rely on those Microsoft servers is BS!!

Also

We need to be able to work on our maps “OFF LINE”. We never had that problem with past halo versions! Why? Cause I dont want to loose my maps that took many hours to make!

REF: FORGE

Ok here is the “ONLY WAY” I can connect to those Microsoft Azure Servers
with a custom game mode!

  1. goto server and select offline.
  2. Select Map “FIRST”
  3. Then Select Game Mode
  4. Hit Play
  5. After starting the game for 10 secs. leave game then leave game.
    6. As fast you you can goto server select Xbox Live.
    and hit play as fast as you can.

It’s a Mickey Mouse way of doing it but it works
about 90% of the time. It’s the only way I can
connect to those damn Microsoft Azure Servers!

every file except the most recent and locked files will be deleted after 30 days I think

however I don’t think the winter update has even been out for 30 days
so if people’s files are being deleted its most likely a bug

True but I locked my all of my files just in case if it is a bug just in case!. I don’t want to have to spend hours and hours recreating my maps all over again!
