I know it’s something that actually requires effort to fix so won’t be addressed but the game still crashes and turns off the console every few matches.
It’s staggering that we’ve all paid a few hundred dollars for a less stable and overall worse experience of the same game from over a decade ago.
It’s been a problem for quite some time now, going back all the way to season 1. It’s not getting fixed, it’s never going to be fixed, it isn’t even listed as a known issue. Nearly everyone I know on xbox live who plays on console has their game crash occasionally and the console shuts off sometimes. The only way around it is to buy a gaming PC and play on that.
I’ve experienced it to ever since the H3 customization items were added, one way of reducing the crashing is to disable skins for H3 and CE which does help but kinda makes the H3 focused seasons redundant but the problem seems to be for other games to such as reach and H4

Not sure why you think the experience is any better for the master race, but over on our side it’s as bad if not, worse depending on your rig. 343 needs to stop outsourcing their titles and hire a full time dev team. The optimization on this game is nuts.

The PC guys I typically play with don’t have crashing problems. Every Pro player is on PC as well as all the big twitch streamers and they don’t appear to have crashing issues. My guess is the strength of the PC is a factor.
I’ve never had my console shut down (OG Xbox One), but some times when a match finishes loading and the screen fades to black, the music suddenly goes brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, and I get booted back to the Dashboard and have to reload back into the MCC.
Usually I don’t mind, but occasionally I load back up to a cheeky message telling me I’m a dirty quitter and have to wait a few minutes to start searching again.
I feel like this is a bigger contributor to the rise in insta-quiting, as apposed to people not wanting to play a certain map/game.
Turn off all new armor and skins, should crash less. In settings under video.
My game never used to crash (at least, I think it didn’t) but since one of the recent seasons I have been experiencing occasional crashes. I don’t play online at all, so nothing there, but it sometimes crashes when I load a mission playlist, or a theatre film of Campaign. Theatre! Honestly…
when i sometimes play i get a fatal error or my icon disappears of my taskbar when i go do something on my other monitor so i cant go back to the game
I love how Halo 3 still crashes consoles in 2021. Truly amazing that the Xbox One hardware can’t handle a game from 2007.
But actually, this is a very frustrating issue considering the game hard resets my console and then I get a temporary ban for “quitting.” It’s almost like 343 is mad that everyone likes Halo 3 more than the games they’ve made recently and so are purposefully ignoring this issue that’s been known for years.
