Just bought this game finally. OG halo wars vet.
Absolutely pathetic. Crashes on everything. Campaign. Multiplayer. Tutorial. Even skirmish.
I’ve tried reinstalling and multiple hard resets. Is anyone aware of these issues? Have they been addressed? Would be sad to take it back but at this point I dont see any other reason why not.
What are your system specs? If your provide a DxDiag the devs can help.

This is not my experience, its been stable for me. Can you tell us more? Is it crashing when you try to launch into these things? Are you playing off disc or did you buy digital? Is it crashing immediately? Or after some play?

Game starts up fine. I try to load anything and it crashes after it loads. No play whatsoever
I tried to join a friend but I am unable to. Error says I have a different version.

You actually just said “just bought this game finally”
Anyways, your best bet would be maybe posting in the support forums, it’s not common to disconnect like that

You’re right I guess what I really meant was i finally bought the game a month ago.
Anyways best bet was they should have had these issues resolved. Thats why I didnt pre order or buy month 1.
my game still crashes time to time but its like 1/50 match now about 2 patches ago it was like 1/6 and when this game first came out, you were lucky to finish.a match lol.
I am having the exact same problem. Purchased the game 2 days ago and everything works all the way up to actually launching the game then it freezes and crashes.
that’s all pretty weird I have never had those problems. Every once in awhile i will de-sync but never what you have described

I’m gonna do a cache clear when I get off work and see if that helps, if not ill be back on these forums when H6 gets teased.

I recall during the beta it was incredibly unstable. Sometimes 1/10 matches. Sometimes 1/2. But its literally bricked. I can open blitz packs and watch a cut scene but thats it. Every other option fails and crashes
I bought this game yesterday for Xbox one and I am getting the same issues. Can watch the intro, get the briefing then the game black screen/freezes and then kicks me back to home screen.
I tried full reboot of Xbox one, reinstall with the same results happening. I also tries to reject the 15gb update but it always forces me and I cannot start without it.
Are 343 even aware that this is happening I can’t play in-game I bought surely a refund or a response about a possible fix is due?

No it did not. I reinstalled with the patch 5 times cleared the cache twice.
Took it back and exchanged it for Battlefield 1

Well to be honest, this is the first thread I know I have seen pop up in the forums on this issue so I would assume it is not affecting much as if anything is broken all over the place - people tend to voice it.
Some helpful info for them could be what country you are in? What version of Xbox do you have (S, day one)? What is your internet speed? What areas of the game have you crashed on - Skirmish, campaign, searching for MP match, blitz? Giving as much details as possible are helpful to developers to repro issues and see what the problem is.
Do you have an external HDD? If so - what kind/size is it? Are you in the Xbox preview program so you have new operating systems that aren’t available to all yet?
Just some information to think about and share to help them debug the issue.

Question: Can you open up your game manager after you have installed the update and reply with the version number of the game that is installed? This sounds like possibly the update wasn’t being properly applied.

I didn’t show a version number. But…I deleted the reserve space and started it up again…that seemed to work!
