Game crashes Fatal error, gets banned

Is there anything you 343 guys forgot to handle on the mcc servers because I get a 5 minute ban for something going on your end. For real?

I’m getting this error a lot as well. It started happening around the update just before the anniversary one. I get it a lot when I play BTB Halo 3 but I’ve gotten it in Reach now as well. I’ve followed a bunch of the advice people have given for it. Uninstalling, reinstalling, updating drivers, updating windows, verifying integrity of the files on Steam, setting everything back to defaults, checking my connection, running the anti-cheat repair and so on.

I don’t know what is causing it but it seems to be happening more frequently as time goes on. It’s a pain and I don’t care about getting banned as much as I do getting dumped out of a match in general, It’s jarring and unpleasant. They wrote you might see improvements in performance after the event update. I actually believe it’s gotten worse for me though. The matches I’m playing keep snagging and hanging and usually during some of the worst of that is when I get the UE4 Fatal error message. I hope 343 comes out with a fix for this.

Try going to settings, go to “Gameplay”, select those games (first H3 and after that Reach) and for “New Customization” select “disabled”. A lot of times it happens because your pc can’t handle the newer amors/skins. With that option you disable them and get just the original skins.

TMCC often crashes my box upon the start of a match or shortly after. My screen freezes and eventually my Xbox reboots. I always get the temp bans from it too which is frustrating. It’s worse in Halo 3 BTB, especially if it’s a forge map. I always chalk it up to my Xbox one being old and underpowered. I’m still using a sunset overdrive edition. I wouldn’t say it happens every day but it can happen multiple times in a day. It is the worst.

I’ve had the same thing happen to me, but I got a 15min ban because it’s happened twice in a row now. I get it, you don’t want people leaving the match, but now I have to sit here and twiddle my thumbs because my connection failed or the server just booted me. It just becomes frustrating sometimes.

I’m getting the same problem with my Xbox One X. It usually happens in Halo 3 BTB and its about 1-3 minutes into the game. My game freezes, audio plays for about 5 seconds more, and then my console hard shutoffs itself. Then of course I get my quit ban to add insult to injury. very frustrating and has been a more frequent issue with season 8. Hope 343 recognizes this and finds a fix.

Yeah I’m on pc and I’m getting these crashes, screen turns white like a huge graphical error and the computer hard reboots. First it was a UE4 crash, now this. The hell is going on?

Yeah I’m getting this too on pc. Happens sometimes that the game will turn my whole screen white with some off pixels like a graphical error, then the pc just hard reboots. Happened before as well… dunno what’s causing it. I tried reverting drivers but nada, still happens.
