With the details that Halo Wars 2 is multiplatform and that Xbox One is getting keyboard and mouse support, the fear inside me says that Halo Wars 2 may be keyboard and mouse exclusive. Why is this a problem? Because like many people, we threw out our desktop machines for laptops, tablets and smartphones. No smartphone or tablet could play this game efficiently, and a gaming laptop will always be more than $350.
What scares me the most is that Creative Assembly doesn’t usually make Console RTS’, and may be less familiar to controllers than some other devs. It’s also frightening that Creative Assembly is also hiring in mass to get as many people to work on the game as possible- big red flag, held previously by Ensemble Studios.
Are you scared for Halo Wars 2?

Very few developers make console RTS’s and even fewer of them (pretty well none) are successful. CA has the groundwork for moderate success already laid by Ensemble Studios (via the standard of gameplay Ensemble produced in Halo Wars). As long as its a natural evolution then the control scheme and gameplay should work well.
Yes, CA is hiring, but it’s not like they are hiring brand new programmers and artists with little or no experience. They will be industry veterans. And with CA’s on corporate history, they should be able to hone that skill into effective game development.
