Game breaking glitch on Halo 4 midnight

Was just playing through Halo 4 on easy to get caught up on the story before tomorrow. When I booted up the midnight level and got the final boss fight I had a problem.
I had run out of all ammo in all my guns before I stepped into the grav field that took me up to the didact. When the QTE event starts It tells you to pull right trigger too shoot your AR, Whoever I did not have any ammo so according to the game I had no AR. This prevented me from proceeding the the QTE and thus failing over, and over, and over again. Honestly I’m quite shocked this happened. I’m sure someone looked at the final encounter and thought “hey I wonder what would happen if you run out of ammo?”.

Anyway, halo is amazing and you guys are doing a great job with the lore, but when you can you fix this very annoying bug? Thanks.

took me about 6-8 tries to kill that Didact just yesterday so I don’t think it’s an ammo problem rather something to do with the right trigger which it doesn’t recognize or maybe it has to be pressed at the right time. I know I pressed it exactly when chief gets in contact with the Didact.

I had the same problem the other day but because I had finished it a while back and remembered u kill him with a grenade and not with the AR i just ignored it and went on with pressing the grenade button and it worked fine.

It is a problem I know.
To defeat didact you need to use the throw grenade button. I don’t know why 343 haven’t fixed it yet.
