Game breaking bug need help?!

Hey all, I created an infection map that I believe has good potential for many plays. The map works fine on the first round but when it begins a second round nobody spawns in to the map, the game Continues as if nothing wrong has happened until the match timer is up. On the third round I seemed to spawn in when testing but this is useless as my game mode is 10 minutes long and nobody wants to wait that long to spawn in next round. My map is below 100% in all categories in forge so it’s not an overload issue. How can I fix this??? I have adequate amount of spawn and respawn points so that is not a problem either. This is extremely frustrating as I am very proud of my map but so far nobody has been able to play past the first round… What can I do??

I remember hearing a very similar issue with spawns on the custom game mode “Speed Halo” they may have the trick on how to fix it.

It’s an issue with the Infection game mode but was always usually an issue with things that should spawn in but don’t on every even-numbered round. Always heard about weapons not spawning and such but never a player spawning issue. Might need to Google search into this one.

It’s been a while and I have not been successful in fixing this issue. I’ve tried deleting and respawning the spawn points, saving as a new map and the problem still persists. It seems to only affect every second round and will happen with any game mode.
For instance, round 1 works fine, and the round 2 does not. When round 3 starts everybody spawns in, then at round 4 nobody spawns. Wait till round 5 everybody spawns in again.
This is driving me nuts!! Custom games are lacking right now and my map could spice it up a bit. Has anybody else encountered and successfully fixed this issue??

In short, Infection is broken, was released broken, and was never intended on being fixed. That out of the way, us Forgers have a solution. go to my bookmarks (gt is ‘b0b is here’ zero in b0b). In my prefab bookmarks you’ll find a prefab named Infection Spawn fix. Place this in all of your Infection maps to combat the various no spawn glitches the gametype has. The fab is only two objects, and you can delete the other object; you only need the brain in your map.

This fab counts all human players and ends the round if there are none. Unspawned players are technically human, and trigger the brain to end the round if a player starts unspawned or joins and cannot spawn. Good luck, Spartan!

Try using spawn zones instead of points? I haven’t been on 5 since Nov 2017 so I don’t know what they could have changed but give that a try if you haven’t yet.

Is anything scripted? You may need to check it out if so

This won’t do anything at all. I’ve already provided the only possible solution to this glitch.

Scripts have nothing to do with the Infection gametype spawning being broken. There is a script that can fix the glitch, though. I’ve provided that info in my comment above.

Hey Bob thanks, I tried it but the glitch persists… Do you think you could help me out on game? Gamer tag is same name as on here. Thanks.

Shoot me a message on xbl so I can find you. b0b is here. zero in b0b. The fix I’ll likely end up doing for you is deleting all of your spawning and placing new ones. For some reason this has fixed it for a bunch of people; if you want to give that a try before I get in there and take a look feel free.

Have you guys ever tried looking at the maps in Matchmaking to see how they’re set up? Spawns may have labels attached because there’s no engine difference between matchmaking and customs. Infection in MM works just fine with rounds as does that Mantua infection in Action sack. Definitely something you can do. I’d check those maps first on how to set up the spawns.

We’ve figured out that the map was glitched due to some budgets being broken. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT BREAK YOUR FX BUDGET. You can encounter this break on several maps if you do this; not being able to spawn on even numbered rounds. All odd numbered rounds worked perfectly, but even numbered rounds are broken and disable spawning completely. The map is currently still broken, but I have a few ideas on how to fix it. Will post results if/when they are successful.
