I’ve noticed that for sources of audio outside my FOV are not played at what would be the expected volume.
Keeping the same distance from the source, when the source of audio is from the side of the FOV the volume is reduced so much that you can barely hear it. If the source is from behind the volume is even lower than if it was coming from the sides.
Players were able to run up and melee from behind without without giving off the sound of footsteps at the same volume as if they were approaching from the front.
Audio is terrible in multiplayer. They audio cues just straight up don’t work at times. I’ve watched someone run up to me with no footstep noise made at all. Weapons fire sometimes seems to come from the left but it’s actually from the right. They need to look into it for sure.
Game doesn’t work well with 7.1 surround. My tinfoil hat says Microsoft wants people to buy dolby atmos from their MS store because the fact they haven’t fixed this is unacceptable. Literally makes the game unplayable for folks who already have their trusty gaming headset.
Same here. I have everything set to stereo. Even other games I only play in stereo. But sounds from behind seem not to get to my ears. With a Soundblaster X G6 and a HyperX Cloud Alpha all sounds should be hearable quite fine, but they aren’t!
Thank you, I changed my audio output to stereo and I can hear footsteps consistently now. I use 7.1 surround sound as output for several other games and it work fine. Nonetheless the problem is solved for now.
