i’ve recently connected my xbox to a wifi netword, no gold included yet, and i have noticed that, after an update for Halo: Reach, that both my ranking and earning credits is going reeeally slow now.
for example:
- i normally earn about 3000 credits, for playing a game of firefight on, let’s say… Corvette.
- i now get 500 credits for ANY game of firefight i play.
can someone explain this to me/ give me instructions on what i should be doing?
please notice:
- i DO NOT boost, i just like the firefight-mode more than campaign-mode.
- i DO NOT hack, cheat, or use glitches to earn my rank/credits.

When you earned 3000 credits, you played in MM or offline?
well, i haven’t used the matchmaking function yet, as i haven’t activated my gold membership yet.
so i played ofline.
i dont know how i play now actually, all i know is that the problem started occuring since i created a silver account.
so, you’re trying to tell me i will earn more when i’m playing without being connected to wifi?
because i’ve heard people de-rank because they have tried this?

Yup. You earn the “normal” amount while connected to the Internet, even if you only have a Silver membership. Furthermore, you’re de-ranked when you connect from an offline account, in order to keep credit/rank balanced across all users.
If you’re not online, though, you earn credits faster, since the normal rate is way too slow for campaign and firefight.
so i can now safely turn of my wifi before playing , without worrying about my stats going down?
if so, this kind of helped me.
although i know the game is not about credits, i would like to buy some nice armor…

hey uhmm i was playing halo with my sister and then i bruaght carter or juns voice and then i played though a mission and went back into the amory and notice i had negative -56789 credits and just wondering why and i need this fixed and people are saying that they cant see my service record thats because i join to xbox live with my account spongebob and then the name got changed to toppingclover 81 and then i changed it to benji5545 and i dont know what happened because my xbox live doesnt work any more anyway ya i was talking to microsoft support just before and they referred me to this page so i can write what i told them and they said in 24 hours a manager or something should reply i need to know why this happened and can my credits be reinstated i have lost of 120000 credits had 82… something or rather and then i braught carter or juns voice and then i had negative -56789 credits in amory

if you play offline you can only earn about 120k. i hit my max offline. although you can use another storage device and it should let you continue to earn credits.
okay, i feel with your problem and don’t know how to fix it.
but i beg you to NOT post your topic on someone else’s.
it seems really annoying, and i think it doesn’t really take much effort to make your own topic, as i’ve already seen you uploading it as a new one.
it’s better to just stick with your own and not to spam it on other’s topics.
this is not only spam, but attracts attention in a negative way as well.

Hello. If you play offline, you will not be able to gain much credits for The Armory. This is to prevent credit exploits.
Also, if you connect and play over xbox live, the offline credit rules apply to all game modes that you can select from the main menu.
actually i dont get what to believe now ???
