Friends,
I love the Halo Channel site, it’s great for managing my Company and forums, and also learning about the game(s) as well as what’s going on with the franchise.
BUT
I have noticed that there’s room for improvement… =) Please take the time to ponder this dose of healthy criticism:
- Notifications: I love the fact that when I get a message, or my Company inbox has some new recruit looking that I get that friendly little blue envelope show up on my profile pic, this is a great start! But what’s annoying is that I don’t have any notifications if someone comments on one of my forums, quotes me in a forum, or if people in my own Company reply to a member forum! I believe that adding a feature that would notify the author, ESPECIALLY with Company conversation would really be beneficial; managing, discussion, and overall communication would greatly improve. - Stat Comparisons: I know I’m not the only one looking for a simpler way to do this. Is it too much to ask for side-by-side options to compare individual stats? How many Companies out there get loads of new recruits and have to pick which ones to accept or reject? Instead of sifting through multiple browser windows or heaven forbid using the "back button", there should be a way to compare side-by-side general statistics about players. This is 2016, man! Let’s see some future up in here. Hell, why stop there? Let’s do one better and make a Company Comparison option as well, I’m not talking like every single minuscule commendation… just something that can give you an idea of who’s in the lead- so to speak. - Halo Channel App needs some love… Sad but true, great concept- but totally sucks. Don’t get me wrong, I do appreciate being able to look at videos and stream content from my phone involving the Halo world, you guys are getting there! But come on man, I can’t even look at my messages from the App! If the intention of this application was to replace the need for a desktop, or even appeal to an audience where a desktop isn’t an option, you are failing. I’m against the “everyone get’s a medal” philosophy, in order to be recognized as great you have to be great. Wouldn’t it be nice to customize your spartan or recruit members to your Company while your sitting on the train (do people still use trains? I don’t care, I’m sticking with train), or riding in the car? “But Montana, you can still use your phone’s browser and use the website that way…” THEN WHY DID YOU EVEN MAKE THE APP? Your excuse is invalid. Anyway, that’s it for now. 343 has really stepped up when it comes to Halo, but it’s our job as a community to tell them what we want. They want to please us, they want us to play the games, they want us to be a part of the 343 community, it’s our job to tell them what the people want. Don’t mindlessly bash them like a tool or only tell them what sucks, offer solutions! Be a team player, that’s what an adult does.
