Future Title Update Ideas for H4:

Having waited a long time for an epic gaming experience in the recently released Halo 4, I was hoping to play one of their newest features, the successor to Bungie’s Firefight mode, Spartan Ops. But I realized something when I installed that second disc:

You couldn’t access the first episode of S.O. offline. So here’s one of my ideas, considering that the majority of us who wanted to play the crap out of the newest addition to the halo universe downloaded all parts of Season 1:

-Enable offline access and playability of Spartan Ops.

On another note, many people have also acquired the latest Map Pack DLC. While the Maps are nicely crafted by Certain Affinity, I realized that there were alot of items on the map that could have been forgeable, instead of static meshes that serve to block points of entry and establish lines of cover. Crimson, Majestic and Castle all have these items, and the only miscellanea in the forge toolbox are three types of crates, sandbags, few explosives and ultimately not enough scenery.

Let’s take a look at Harvest, Perdition, Landfall, and Daybreak.

-Even though Harvest is designed to be a medium-sized map, the whole of combat takes place along the middle section. The forward and aft parts of the map are large, wide-open spaces suitable for vehicular combat but can do with added scenery in forge to make use of all that space.
-Landfall, Daybreak and Perdition all suffer from the same issue, static, un-removable meshes in the form of barriers and trucks and forklifts, and can do with the same.

  • And although I didn’t mention it earlier, it’d be nice to have some Hog vs Hog action on Complex.

Lastly, I want to focus on Forge. The titular Forge Island was just recently released, and while there was a huge playspace, all we really got out of it was three huge anvils.Yes, there was a nice hidden playspace underneath each island to which we could glitch under and forge our hearts out. The DLC Maps could have used more leeway in forge, with more scenery to play with to modify choke points and change the flow of battle.

Alot of people are worrying about balancing the weapons and vehicles, but I think that there are other things that could use focus to enable Halo 4 to have better playability, rather than sit on my desk waiting for the weekend to play S.O. and DLC to use offline.

Thanks for hearing me out, and I apologize for my argument not sounding as intelligent as I want it to.
