Future REQs (Weapons & Vehicles)

Halo 5 Guardians has the largest amount of weapons and vehicles in any Halo game to date, though that’s not to say it couldn’t use any more.
I had several ideas for weapons including variants from older games, weapons we haven’t been able to use but were in-game, and some other things.
Details about each weapon/vehicle include their rarity, functionality, appearance, and general information.

> Puma (Red Team’s Warthog)

Credit goes to my friend shadow 5niper74. - Legendary Mythic warthog - Appears for the most part like a regular warthog, but also has a hula girl on the dashboard with Lopez’s helmet, a grass skirt, and a lea (a character from RvB) - Heavier armor, faster speed, and maybe a slightly stronger turret, but most importantly while it’s on the battlefield it plays the music from the RvB series that the Red’s warthog normally plays. The farther away you are the duller the song is, but it still have enough range that you may become a big target. It would be pretty effective at distracting players, and due to it’s rarity it wouldn’t be common enough to become annoying.

It would retain the grunt emblem. It would also have a unique icon for the blueprint and kill-feed. - Fore! Allegedly created to test miniaturized gravity drives created through the reverse engineering of Gravity Hammers, it’s unclear who authorized it to be placed into War Games simulations.

It could use the model from H2A and would also have a unique icon for the blueprint and kill-feed. - Has a wide blast radius to kill players, and outside of this boundary it can strip the shields and launch those fortunate enough to not be TOO close to the kill zone. It would be able to EMP vehicles and imbues the user with strong shields (comparable to between 1 and 2 overshield powerups at once). The stronger shields could protect the user if they are too far away or accidentally launch players away.

The red reticule would be decreased so it wouldn’t be as affective at longer ranges, given it’s CQC nature. - The name is simply referring to the needler’s ammunition.

It could be slowed down in speed and only take 10 shots so you don’t need to reload) - Looks like the “Pneumatic” skin from Halo 4 - Name is just a reference to the skin (also, alliteration)

The name is a reference to this event

Feel free to comment with your own ideas, and suggestions. Also, feel free to share this around, because the more attention it gets, the higher the likelihood of ideas like these or others are actually implemented into the game or future titles!

Additionally, do you think any of the current weapon variants to return in future titles, and in extension the REQ system in general? Would cards carry over if they existed in the next game, or would you think you have to re-unlock every card?

What in Sam Hill is a puma? Are you talking about the shoe company?

These all sound neat. Not sure about the H4 Suppresor. That thing kinda sucked. Maybe lower its rarity.

Agreed. Though despite not being powerful I still wonder how rare 343 would make it, considering how different it functions from regular suppressors.

Stopped reading after I saw “Functions like H4” 3 or 4 times.

The ones that have “(Requiem…)” are promethean weapons that function like Halo 4 versions. Moved those to the end so it’s less off-putting.

the forklift and puma are obviously the best candidates for additions to this game

We don’t need more REQs. If the number of REQs increases, the probability of getting useful REQs in each pack decreases and that is a major problem with the REQ system. I went more than 10 gold packs without a single railgun or splaser and got more variants of useless weapons like the scattershot. I’d actually prefer if 343i cutout about 10%-20% of the current REQs. That would result in more useful weapons being obtained from each REQ pack.

if you are talking about armor and helmets and emblems and stances etc. hellyes. if you are talking about weapons, boosts, powerups and vehicles fkno.

the more weapons and vehicles the better

Somebody never watched Red vs Blue… It’s a reference to the very beginning of the first season. Bungie referenced the whole Puma thing in Halo 3, since the Warthog’s tires were of the “Puma” brand, and had the word Puma on them.

Exactly. Adding good weapons and vehicles to the pool doesn’t make it worse. Adding emblems however… that get’s a bit annoying.

take the halo 4 suppressor make the function etc the same but make it good like the smg or storm rifle from halo 5.
smartscope causes hardlight to be fired in a straight line at the cost of rof
hipfire has fastest kill time shortest range ie wee bit shorter than smg

Fist of Rukt and the Halo 4 Forrunner weapons are the only thing I agree with honestly. For the Boltshot I also disagree with having to scope to use the shotgun ability. People here say the Suppressor in Halo 4 sucked but they just didn’t know how to use it.

Just allow players to ride in the cart, buff the speed, armor, and survivability, and BOOM! that thing is ready for combat.

Also, just buff the speed and armor of Forklifts, allow us to control the forks, and BOOM! Instant vehicle flipper. Just go up to an unsuspecting enemy tank, use the forklift and flip 'em over. You can also send players sky high using the forks at the right time.

i’d vote for the forklift being added. I need my noble stead back.

I’ve watched all seasons of Red vs Blue at least three times. I was making a joke. In Season One, Grif thinks ithe Warthog looks like a puma. Sarge doesn’t know what a puma is. Simmons suggests that it’s the Puma apparel company.

I REALLY enjoy the idea of a functional forklift able to flip vehicles. Canonically it would probably be made by the same guy who designed the Needlehog, which itself wouldn’t be a bad edition…

Mythic Forklift, the Noble Stead.
