Future Patch Notes & Balance Testing

So why can’t we have access to WIP patch notes? Feels like there’s a lengthy period of communication blackout between updates… Wouldn’t it be better to have the community’s input on incoming changes? Also tons of games do that, and even have playable builds for balance testing. Not sure if it’s within the dev team’s capabilities, but that’d be interesting. What do you guys think?

The community does have a lot of input and engagement I would say. The devs are very much reading the forums and helping to make the balance patches based on feedback. Especially since a lot of these patches are touching areas many have discussed in previous seasons.

I would suggest making balance threads and discussing the changes people would like to see in them. As global or micro as you want. They do listen.

They listen for sure, but we need more responses, before the patches are finalized.

By responses, do you mean by the devs?

Yeah, the people making the patch notes

I think the problem here is:

Putting together and posting the patch notes takes time… People already complain enough about patches being too infrequent… I would think their time would be better spent on actually doing the work, rather than continually updating people. Especially when a large amount of the community would just complain about the notes themselves…

Although I’d love to have more feedback from the developers, I think the issue lies with the split work between 343 and CA. They don’t always know what exactly is happening because CA might not have told them.

That said, I think we’re good with the system we’ve got. I hope to see a balance patch buffing the weaker leaders in like 4 weeks.

Me too, each leader has he potentially to truly be unique and I hope they are patched.

Especially Anders and Forge. They have super cool potential that I hope isn’t forgotten. Though I could see them put on the back burner until all season pass leaders are out.

The community’s idea of “input” is everyone shouting to nerf everything until you’re left with infantry throwing potatoes at each other. The input should come from top ranked players who set the meta and know the mechanics of the game inside and out

Okay so make the test build accessible to high elo players easy as that. Have you seen the Overwatch and LoL communities? They still have all of this even though half of them are toxic waste.

Ok? Just cause you’re not good at blitz doesn’t mean it’s not a a legit playlist. Blitz does have mechanics and strats so what is it that you’re trying to say?

Blitz is a fine game mode in my opinion, although you there’s those few people who spend too much money on it. However, I think we can all agree that strongholds is garbage xd

It would be cool if we had someone giving us some insight, kinda like how Joshua Menke gives us matchmaking feedback updates for Halo 5: Guardians.
