Considering the almost universal backlash the req system in Halo 5 has had, does it seem likely that 343 will remove it? I’m okay with microtransactions in a game as long as they don’t interfere with the experience, which is precisely why I’ve spent a majority of my time in H5 with the arena side of multiplayer rather than warzone.
The question is if the req system is removed for Halo 6 (or whatever is next) in favor of a system that would only affect the cosmetic side of customization how would warzone be corrected as well assuming it’s a mode to stay. In my opinion, I’d look to games like Battlefield 1 and just place weapons and vehicles on the maps. It could be set up so that capturing bases would drop weapons/vehicles for your team, which gives players incentive to capture them rather than relying on an RNG system. This way maps can have more diverse base setups rather than using the copy/paste armories and garages we’ve seen in H5’s warzone. As a way to encourage this diversity different bases could give teams different advantages, for example: the garage type bases grant a team higher level vehicles like scorpions and wasps while armories can counter this by giving players rocket launchers and sniper rifles.
