Forge Ideas

.On PC

.Terrain Generator and Editor

.Can extend and reduce size of walls and basic objects

.Change values of objects such as health, drivability and damage

.Large amount of vehicles and weapons to choose from such as longswords, different scorpion tanks and different helicopter like aircraft

.Can change textures for certain objects

.Can change weather conditions such as rain, snow, dust, sun, clouds and time of day/night

.It should be simple like forge but more flexible

Campaign Ideas

.Can choose weapon when being dropped off by pelican or drop pod

.Other AI members of your team are good as in they hold position and actually keep on firing at enemies

.Big apocalyptic battles should be big and apocalyptic with tones of AI

.Space battles are more action-packed and are more like space fighter games

.Enemy AI should run out of ammo and some should be more aggressive

.On higher difficulties, instead of increasing health on the elites, the AI should become smarter and use their resources to their full potential

.You can different ways of getting past an enemy like you may stealth past them and flank them with help of your AI team members or you may just try and take them down slowly by holding off at a position

.Should be lengthy with about 20 missions but should also have high replay value

.Maybe have campaign add-ons with extra missions

.The terminals are perfect

Mechanic Ideas

.Some terrain is destructible but not all – When shooting lasers at the ground, small trenches should appear and rockets should create craters

.Armor abilities

  • Cloak like the Halo 2 Arbiter cloak

  • Armor lock that can’t be activated when shields are down

  • Can have maximum of two holograms

  • You’re a Spartan, sprint should be faster

  • Like in Warhammer 40k Space Marine, you should be able to come crashing down on your enemies with the jet-pack by choosing your landing zone

  • You should be able to evade into cover and out the way of vehicles easier using a sort of auto-aim system

  • Drop Bubble should last longer

. Blocking the energy sword should only be available to two handed weapons and should also be more fluid

.Ranking should be more like Halo 3, except you may reset your skill level at the end of every month if you want and campaign games give you more than 1 exp depending on the difficulty

.Commendations should be easier to get

.Armor should be unlocked through commendations, achivements and rank

.There should be a custom game finder that can help you find custom games by giving you a list of custom games

.They should make you watch a tutorial on how to be a good team member when online

.There should be a mechanic to place a “look” marker, like in Portal 2

.You can rewind in Theater and you can also “super” fast forward for long games like campaign missions

.You can choose which side of the mongoose you want to get out of by pressing left or right

Firefight Ideas

.Firefight gives you exp depending how far you get

.It should be more like ODST in the way it’s up against your back against waves of enemies

.You shouldn’t be allowed to change firefight options except for custom firefight maps, which you can forge, and don’t give you exp

.Marines can come as your reinforcements

.Flood are an option for firefight enemies

.There should be leader-boards on Halo Waypoint

.You can save games so they don’t go on for 5 hours straight

.Not firefight arcade as the main option, firefight is about being up against your back holding off waves of enemies, not trying to steal kills off your friends. It should still be there, just not as the main firefight option

Multiplayer Ideas

. All game-types should have their own playlist

.In race, there should be a game-type with a teammate on the back of your vehicle shooting

.In infection, the infected should represent zombies more

.You get half points or something one your kill gets stolen in free-for-all slayer

.There should be:

  • Social playlists

  • Ranked playlists

  • Firefight search

  • Custom game Search

  • Campaign search

.Larger maps for bigger battles

.Very successful custom maps may become default maps

.There should be a team/clan search on Halo Waypoint for people who want to find people like themselves to play with

.You should be able to create clans like in Halo 2

.Bungie favourites should return and you may “like” screenshots, videos, gametypes and maps

There’s absolutely no reason why this game should need to have a seperate PC powered forge. Those of us who have played games like far cry have seen the vast potential of console run map editors. Outsourcing the map editor to PC is just plain lazy. The consoles have more than enough power to run a decent map editor.

And would be completely awkward also. They’d have to go off and design software for months. When I want to create a map, I don’t want to have to go to my PC. Halo’s forge barely needs improvement.
