I think by HALO5 we should be able to customize the following. Head, chest, sholders, forearms, thighs, kneecaps, shin, and feet areas seperately. In HALO4, forearms and legs where completely different than the base armour, and I didnt like this very much. It felt lazy to me, but i understand that the xbox was being pushed to it limits. Now that HALO5 will be on the 720 or whatever, ther be no reasonable explination as to why 343 cant pull this of. Ex. RECON head, RECON chest, RECON sholders, RECON forearms, RECON thighs, RECON kneecaps, RECON shins, and RECON feet. We should be able to choose what it is we want for each section. For every HELMET there needs to be a matching set for the rest of the body. I dont mean a full leg set either, I mean RECON thigh, AIR ASSULT kneecaps, SCOUT shins, and WARRIOR feet. So I really hope you people can make this happen, cause you know it would be awesome. Also can we actualy get a CHIEF GREEN color for our armour, cause the greens we have been givin aren’t good enough.
I don’t think having to choose different upper and lower leg pieces is that much of a must to be honest. But more customization is welcome!
Here’s what I’m thinking about:
New category: Skins.
In H4 you have skins, but they’re pre fixed on armor pieces. This means you have 2-3 variants of a single armor piece which clutters the interface…like: a lot. Not only that: but some skins are cool, but I don’t want to wear the armor their glued onto.
So: set skins free of armor and make them a different category. When a skin is applied, it will just be placed over whatever combination of armor pieces you’re wearing.
Which means: less cluttering in the armor lists, and more freedom = good.
Add things like:
More visor colors
H4 had quite a few colors, but most were variations on the same basic schemes: blue, purple, yellow. And we’ve seen plenty of other colors throughout the Halo series. Bright colors look…off on Spartans, so metallics should be in. I’d say, on top of what we have now, consider this:
Copper (Jorge style)
Mirror (Emile style)
Gold (classic MJOLNIR style)
Silver/Blue (ODST style)
Soft Yellow (Standard Reach style)
New category: Attachements
Reach gave us a lot of more, well…bulky and specialized MJOLNIR armors. What stood out were things like the wrist computers (like Carter had), and small camera attachements on the shoulders and sides of helmets (like these on the cover of Cole Protocol. Again: like with Skins in H4, most of these were glued onto the armor. Why not re-introduce them, and make it possible to match them with every set of armor/helemt you want.
New category: Backpacks
Like different sets of upper and lower leg pieces: completely unneccecary. But ever since ODST I thought it would be cool to have optional backpacks. Many Halo concept artworks and side characters show/have awesome attachements like this(upper left cornor), this, this, this and this
They serve no purpose. They would probably be difficult due to hitboxes. But they look awesome, and I love some more personalization on my Spartan!
More classic armor sets
SPI armor (I don’t care it has no shield in canon, multiplayer is a simulation)

You sir… You should be working at 343…
Heed his words gentlemen. This man knows what the ladies like.

I like all of these choices, something else I’d like to see, is battle scarred armor. Master Chief has cuts in his armor from his battles, so would it not make sense to allow us to have some sort scarring in our armor
