Future for DLC

Include DLC in with the price. Well, Map-packs anyway.
I’d rather they’d charge every person for the map-packs in advance (like the season-pass) than having people purchase it later on.
There will be more map rotation and people will be able to play the DLC that they paid for.

They should do this.
They better do this!
DLC playlist is only popular for a few months and then people stop playing it. When a map pack is first released, it should have its own playlist, but then after put it into all of the other playlists. This only works if everyone has it at the start and is included with the game itself.

They won’t. MS likely won’t allow it.

Out of anything, what they should do is instead of releasing typical map packs, release individual maps on a monthly basis for cheap. (I’m talking like $2 a piece.) Id we got maps on a gradual, but consistent rate, I’m sure that people will buy them and that they would meld into the MM seamlessly.

Hopefully, they’ll take a lesson from Gears and CoD and properly mix new maps with old maps. This is the single greatest disappoint for me buying the Limited Edition for the season pass features.

Future for DLC… hmm interesting question as dlc can range from weapon and armour skins to map packs or bundles. Okay so heres my idea. Comment about them below I will try to cover every fan base.

Okay so this would be great to see firefight redone with fortifications like Gears of War 3 Horde 3.0, and give boss waves and what not.{Firefighters/Spartan Op players}

Interactive infinity menu, where players can roam infinity find characters or Easter eggs as well as start missions?{Firefighters/Spartan Op players}

Map Packs pretty self explanatory new maps, but a map pack is rarely used after its releases date, so what if the maps were more interactive with switch or destructive environments?{Matchmaking players}

Game Packs more game type ideas added gradually by 343 that didnt make the initial cut or a halo 4 fans idea created?{Matchmaking players}

Vehicle or Weapon DLC that didn’t make it into matchmaking or game. Maybe a Beta Bundle that gives us prototype weapons, vehicles to mess around with.{Custom Gamers/Forgers}

A texture pack or interactive pack that gives a different looking piece and function to forge pieces or switchs for open/close, on/off functions. So making a more creative and innovative forge mode.{Custom Gamers/Forgers}

Campaign, Spartan Ops and Firefight capturing. Enough Said.{Theater Moders/Machinimas}

Multiplayer capturing for better screen movement or something or, just a funny thing add a warthog with a trailer and a camera on it for high speed chase scenes.{Theater Moders/Machinimas}

What would even be better is that not all players must have the dlc. Make it somthing like if 3 or more players have the dlc than the lobby can use the maps.

Would probably work if they could get all the maps designed for DLC made before release and sell them on disc like they are the GotY edition. I really don’t know how they should manage DLC though. It appears Microsoft don’t care as long as they are getting money from it.

I specified map packs on the first line
Its not that DLC maps are bad and need more interaction (maps need interaction in general), it’s that people who have paid for them can’t play them as often as they should be able to.

Why not free map packs funded by downloadable armor and skins? I think mass Effect 3 and Gears of War did well with this and Killzone is going the free maps route. Also, selling DLC with Halo toys should be a no-no.

This is a good idea. Bottom line is - Map packs should be available/compulsory for everyone.

So, getting something for nothing at the expense of someone else.

Less people will buy the maps as they will count on other people to buy them.

It’s called MSRP $60.00 and then thanking your fans with finale.

if you wane have the dlc in the game price then you most buy next time the edition version from it.
then you know all that you have the dlc maps for free.

it has 1 problem if they tell that 3 dlc packs are for free for the halo edition version.
and they are planing to bring out a 4 dlc pack then its not free more.

its your own choose if you wane buy the normal version or the edition version from it.
but not blame 343 or a other company that they most make the dlc packs free after a long time.
its then you own fault that you have buy the normal version from it and not the edition version from it.

Its not about me, and for the record I did get the limited ed. with the war games map pass, its just that I rarely play the maps because not everyone does have it.

If you’re in a lobby with 16 people and just 1 doesn’t have any dlc, then you can’t play it - end of.

I want it so that the issue of purchasing later map packs does not affect my experience of the game. Is it fair that I, and in that scenario - the other 14 people, cannot play on expansions that I/We’ve bought?

Maps should be free. I truly believe it is as simple as that.

They’re the lifeblood of Halo multiplayer.

Bad ones can ruin matchmaking (lookit Halo 4).

Good ones get termed classic and are clamored for as soon as the next game comes out (since Halo 2).

There are plenty of other ways to get our money via microtransactions.

Most importantly, if everyone has the same maps, the good ones get played and the player base doesn’t get fragmented.

Free maps!

Not only this, but can you imagine the wait times if everybody had to individually download the map in the pregame lobby just to play on it for the match?
