Future DLC advice... please drop the price

The price of DLC is too for what you get. Let me start of by telling you I buy all of the DLC maps for all of the Halo games and there are definitely many maps I have enjoyed, but I do not get to play them often!!

IMO Microsoft needs to drop the price drastically or even make it a free download in order to get more people to buy this mappack so it shows up more in matchmaking.

I’m not saying this should go into effect immediately… unfair for those who paid for the war games mappass, but it should happen in the future. 343 would likely make more money selling the DLC for $2-5 assuming a much larger amount of people would purchase it.

These playlists are getting too small and gaming is getting too expensive for most to have to pay 10 dollars for 3 maps.

If someone could give me the numbers of total downloads of the maps I would appreciate it too, just to compare it to the current population.

What do you guys think?

I think they should all be free so everyone has them, or at least make some playlists that require the DLC (that don’t just have 3 maps). That way we get our money’s worth…

Ya I’m done buying DLC maps forever. Such a ripoff especially in Canada. It’s 800 MS points, meaning you have to purchase 1000 points for $15. I don’t care if it’s 800 MS points, I still have to pay $15 to get the points to get the maps, so to me it costs $15…for 3 maps…that are usually average…that probably took the developers less than a week to make…that I hardly get to play on and the population count for the playlists is under 500 now.

I’m done with it for sure. We need to demand fair pricing.

Ms doesn’t allow dlc to be free if it has achievements with it. 5$ would be good tho.

Don’t speak for all Canadians. I can easily purchase points ranging in value from 400 to 4000 at EB Games.

I have no issue with the pricing of the DLC. Do I wish it was free? Of course. I wish everything in life was free. Unfortunately nothing in life is free and you gotta pay to play.

You do realize that you save money by buying the season pass, right?

Its 2400 to buy all 3 map packs by themselves.

Its 2000 for all 3 map packs together.

You save 5 dollars by buying them together. Just sayin.

I realize that it is affordable for me and many others, but its hardly worth it. 3 maps for 10 dollars, and you only get to play them based on how many people purchase them as well.

Free would be great but come on, company has got to make the $$$, so doubt it. Plus side note, I believe war games matches you with people that have dlc.

You pay 800 ms points for 3 maps, that’s about right. I’d actually pay more if they gave more content. Look at COD, specifically BO2, the last map pack for that game cost 1200 msp but it came with like 5 maps all deigned for TDM, a new weapon and a new game mode!!

With Halo, some maps are for big team (most of them these days) (which reminds me why do I even play Halo anymore) and then the maps might not even be that great.

ya it attempts to, not enough people have the maps to to play one more than once in a blue moon, especially with BTB

Simple solution: don’t tie achievements to maps.

They’re all terrible achievements anyway - no loss.

I admit, for only having 3 maps per pack… it should be cheaper, but it could be worse… seems like no matter what is in it… COD charges you 15$ for a DLC…

Not to mention, they have to make up money for used game profits…
Do I feel I got my moneys worth, not really, but some do… it happens…

Doubt they’ll ever be free seeing as there’s achievements with the map packs. The only Halo map packs that have been free (Heroic map pack and Cold Storage for Halo 3) didn’t have any achievements with them.

343 don’t decide the price of DLC, Micosoft’s XBL Marketplace team does. Complaining about 343 not lowering the price is pointless since they have nothing to do with that side of DLC and Marketplace.

I picked it should all be free because let’s face it, I’m greedy and so is the majority of the human race.

The price is fair, but the DLC should be supported more.

343’s support of DLC maps in both Reach and Halo 4 has been awful. Why should we drop $10 on maps we’ll only get 43 days with?

Price is fine. Stop being cheap.

Yup the price is fine the way it is

I think 343 needs to add a little more content to match what is on the market today, especially since the maps in Halo 4 just haven’t been as good as previous titles. Obviously this isn’t going to happen soon though, and I will buy the Castle Map Pack for $10 without reservations.

I say $10 should get you 4 maps instead of 3 starting with the next batch of Map Packs. (or additional gametypes and vehicles. Something more…)

I think that the price should drop on Map Packs, after they have been out for six months, to $5.

When the next major Halo title comes out (odst and anniversary don’t count as major titles, I mean Halo 5) all map packs that have already dropped to $5 should be free to anyone who purchases Halo 5. And if any map packs have yet to be reduced from $10 they will be reduced to $5 dollars with the release of Halo 5. Then all map packs not included in the purchase of Halo 5 should be paired with new dlc, so when you buy the $10 Halo 5 DLC you also get a Halo 4 map pack free of charge.

This pricing system coupled with a discounted re-release of Halo 4, I think would encourage more purchases of both titles, and increase and maintain DLC purchases aross the board, without hindering initial sales, because the people that have always bought the DLC at $10 will continue to do so, and the people that haven’t will be encouraged into the market.
