Funny Magnum buff.

So I think that the Magnum should get a buff. But not an ordinary buff… a super duper special buff. I suggest we break the magnum and introduce, for the first time in Halo since maybe Reach with the lock on Covie weapons, the Titanfall smart pistol. Just think of all of the MLG tryhards complaining that the pistol is overpowered. It would balance out the Battle Rifle because all of the newbs would use the smart pistol and the MLG pros/ normal sane players would use the Battle Rifle. What do you think?

P.S. this is a joke, don’t take it seriously… but do leave an opinion.

I think just buffing it back to the ways of Halo 4 as it definitly seems weaker, or just harder to use and it is must easier to hip fire it than it is to use the scope due to the quick moving Spartans.
I quite like the new pistol though, but lock-on pistol, no place in Halo

Please tell me you’re kidding??

I think its weaker then in 4 but its also faster and has more bullets.

The funny thing behind the Smart Pistol in TF was that the skill involved was just getting close enough to your target for a lock-on without being noticed, as it was absolutely useless when fired manually. With Halo, the motion tracker makes that near impossible, so it’d just be a ridiculously campy weapon.
In any case, I think the current Magnum is in an odd position. It’s zoom/SS changes bloom into recoil, which when combined with the fact the gun is in the way makes it almost impossible to use at anything further than mid range. It’s got a similar fire rate to the H4 Magnum, but much less bloom, and I think a little more damage. I’m not sure how to compare the two. Bizarrely, I think the H4 one was more usable at range, despite the huge bloom.
Anyway, IMO I think it could remain as it is, but at the moment it doesn’t really compare to any of the rifles in terms of usefulness.

Not really. If you stimmed and jumped like a maniac dodging bullets and smart pistoling people was ridiculously easy, especially with enhanced targeting, which made it track faster and further with a slight penalty to the area of tracking.

This is without mentioning the enhanced smart pistol which is a two shot kill.

Halo essentially already has a “Smart Pistol”, and has had it since Combat Evolved.

Needler, anyone?

Ah. Guess I never persevered with it long enough. Either that or I was trying too hard to be subtle. Suppressed shotgun all the way for me. Still, I stand by the rest.

Yeah, but I made a sarcastic post about buffing the Magnum into essentially the Smart Pistol from Titanfall, with the 2 shot head shot kill and homing bullets and everything. The Needler is not a two shot kill, nor does it headshot anyone.
