So I got a suggestion for ya 343 that I think would help calm many concerns graphically. At least for people planning on buying the Series X. (Which I do plan on getting myself) I think it would be really cool and maybe even a smart idea to do one of those slider screenshots with a before and after with raytracing, and so nothing new is revealed, just pick a location from the demo to show it with. I know raytracing was said it wouldn’t be there at launch, but doing this sometime before the Series X release might help the concerns of many fans and maybe make the happy ones even more thrilled than they already are. Give them a small taste at what this game is able to look like with the next gen console. Once raytracing is released, 90% of the players will probably never touch the base game lighting again anyways. Despite the condition many people believe the game is in I think it would look amazing regardless and help ease many peoples thoughts. I think you guys are honestly doing an amazing job so far and I can’t wait to see more in the coming months. Stay frost and stay safe!
As long as people don’t have unrealistic expectations of ray tracing.
First up… it’s going to take devs a year or two to come to grips with what the new console can and can’t do. Ray tracing is tricky.
Secondly… we are talking open world at 4k / 60fps. There is limited ray tracing you can do and still maintain that output.
So we are talking general lighting (which should help a lot) but if people are thinking lots of detailed reflections and other graphical wizardry… they are in for a bit of a let down.

Understandable and agreed. The last part was more or less what I was trying to suggest. Just the general lighting.
