Hey Everyone,
So this week has been a fun one! We made significant progress on the next upcoming balance patch and it is looking like we should be ready to get it out near the end of next week with the following Monday at the latest. Barring no changes the final patch notes will be posted on Monday next week and we will be moving on towards a fun new adventure of changes.
This past week we definitely got a lot of things done amidst me moving my apartment while juggling talking with all you fine folks, doing development on fun things, and life changes such as a 2 hour commute which I’m not a fan of. In good news - I am still here alongside Wrensi and others, but just a little more sleepy when reading things and commenting less as we are pretty busy these days. A tired Postums sometimes forgets things like creating posts about posts that might be more posts posting on other posts about postums posts. I can definitely ensure to you all that I am highly caffeinated when it comes time to making actual changes. Wrensi keeps me awake as well by saying things like, “You aren’t going to believe what I just did! It’s great yet sooooo broken!!!” Without these moments and caffeine I would probably fall asleep on my keyboard and add two zeroes behind a bases health and save that file when I awoke. Not saying that happened, but that’s what a tired Postums could do. And if a tired Postums did do that which would make bases have 100x health, I’m pretty sure an angry mob with pitchforks would materialize outside of the studio waiting to have us be placed upon them and roasted like pigs! But I drink coffee and that makes things better and that definitely didn’t happen.
Wait, what was I talking about? Oh yeah! So I reached out to the various community groups that I know regularly have something fun planned over the weekend and they wrote up lists of what’s going on for this coming weekend! Check them out below.
Up First - Team Respawn’s Andrew shot me over the following.
“Hey there! For this weekend we are gonna do a community event weekend for Halo 5. We’re gonna post an announcement video later tonight about it. For people to join us, just have them send me a message on XBL or follow me on Twitter. We will be having open lobbies at first come first serve. We are going to announce a big (16 or 32 player) HW2 tournament to take place April 6th-8th. We probably will do signups on that, but more details will follow on my channel early next week.” YouTube.
Omega Team’s own PoisonHearted54 has a waypoint article broadcasting a tournament with prizes!!! Please reach out to PoisonHearted54 for more information on these tournaments!
"Your friends at Omega Team are hosting a 1v1 Alpha Tournament on Saturday, March 24th at 2:00 pm EST.
- Omega Team is considered top competitive Halo Wars 2 players who are considered best of the best. - Alpha Team is considered a very competitive Halo Wars 2 club but still learning. - *Average rankings for Alpha Team members are between Diamond and Onyx.*If you feel the above statements represent you as a individual in 1v1, then sign up today! Details are here."
Then finally from Breaking the Clutch we got The Hosticide coming in hot on a tournament this weekend!
“This weekend, March 24th at 3:30pm EST, the Breaking the Clutch eLeague is hosting another 1v1 tournament on Halo Wars 2. The eLeague is a completely free series of tournaments where competitors earn points by winning matches. The players at the end of the season receive prizes. Registration for this round ends Friday, March 23 at 11:59pm EST. Don’t miss out the chance to compete because the series ends in July! Register here.”
Well, I hope everyone gets in some fun games over the weekend and please feel free to reach out to me with any cool fun shenanigans you know of or simply add onto the thread.
Cheers,
Postums
