Halo 4 has actually managed to grow on me to an extend. The core game play does feel good and I expect to like it even more after the weapon re-balance.
That said, what made Halo one of my constant go to games over the past 10 years has been a strategically deep CTF experience. With the release of Halo 2 assault got plenty of play time in my groups customs games as well.
This is were Halo 4 falls flat. Where are the promised classic CTF options? 343i wanted us to give their new version a try. We did. The experience just doesn’t hold my interested. One game feels like the last. Most flag captures feel almost identical. More of a head butting contest if you ask me.
I’m not calling for any MM changes. I don’t spent enough time in MM to really voice my opinion on it. But, options would be nice. CTF is why I have played Halo for as long as I have. So again, where are the promised classic CTF options?
Many here on Waypoint think that 343’s next step is to address the multitude of issues in Customs. I personally think they intend to work on balancing the AA’s just before that, however.
Yea I want one flag back, the new CTF isn’t as terrible as we all thought it would be, it’s quite fun but it just isn’t an improvement over classic CTF and we’re all here for improvements.
I wouldn’t really hold your breath on CTF settings being added or for any new custom games or options. bs angel replied to that massive custom games thread but that was 4 months ago and nothing since then.

I was talking to a friend about that today. At this rate we’ll get Destiny or even Halo 5 before we get more custom game options. lol

Well we know we aren’t getting Theater for Campaign or Spartan Ops, so it’s probably sane to chalk up custom games to the list of things not happening.

We’ll probably hear about it once the new balancing rolls out.

I’ll be surprised. I’ve kind of given up hope on any additional options.
